Lots of reasons to love academic and research Norwich, but The Quadram Institute (centre of microbiome excellence) is one of the best.

In the 80s my male friends were very into second hand tailoring - alternating with very scruffy. When I questioned how socialist it was to wear suits, I remember being told that socialism meant Italian suits for everyone.

I should have directed Andrew to you Keiron!

It’s a long held common knowledge thing round here. I’ve never heard anyone speak of it as a rural myth. Rolled out regularly as a strange bit of local history in the papers etc.

'Einstein's hut' installation steals the show at Norwich Science Festival A humble garden shed played a surprising role at this year’s Norwich Science Festival.

I want to know if this story is true

"Einstein’s brief stay in a Norfolk hut is one of those wonderful historical details that feels almost too good to be true."

Do any Norfolk sheddies know it?

I’ve been gardening with Juno and Mouse - it’s gorgeous. You’ll be pleased to hear that D’s been to Argos. 😂

Trying to do a bit of light gardening, I always leave the garden shaggy for winter habitat, and finding ladybird management/rescue is ridiculous. There are so many to avoid displacing - I can’t imagine what they and theirs will find to eat.

Still, much better than too few. :) ❤️🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞

Not comfy. Didn’t have Aylsham on my hitting-the-news card.

We definitely wouldn’t have got off to such a flying start without her. I wasn’t sure if we should do a big night out on our first night but Shawn pretty much insisted and was absolutely right. Very grateful that we could feel at home right away and henceforth explore and eat and drink confidently.

Yet another blessing of old days Twitter - and the excellent food bloggers community. Good times and excellent people.

Can you spare a bit of sun for here? Or maybe I should just come to you.

D’s birthday tomorrow so I’m just realising it must have been exactly ten years since last time.

Even in hard water areas? Is that right? I need to know more it seems!

My usual library of choice is Holt, but I got three books I didn’t really need from the monthly library van last week and always save up something to return.

In a village with barely any public transport it’s a real lifeline for some. Use it or lose it.

Dishwasher salt. That’s unreasonably heavy, bulky stuff isn’t it?

We’re a problem solving species. Can we not do better by this stage of things?
