A paint maker on the chain and gear would prob work, I'm more worried about the crank side. if it loses tension and skips a tooth or two that's so much more work to get all the timing covers and pulleys off.

Other than a torque wrench i replaced my head with basic hand tools over like 3 days and drove it 30 minutes home(parked at a friend's house). it's totally doable, just be prepared to replace ancient rubber hoses and i hope there is some way to remove the cam gear while keeping the chain in place.
