You should read this.
also your software kicks ass
We saw a lot of the issues caused by the Fediverse's lack of structure and decided to try something that avoided them. WL is an "island network" with a variety of sites taking part in it, with a centralized governance structure and shared set of community guidelines. Oliphaunt wrote more a[...]
i saw that when i tried a longer post earlier. bluesky's character limit shows their cowardice
utterly Dominating my bluesky followers by annihilating them with five thousand multi-paragraph cohost posts
no rush but also that'd be real cool. would place wafrn along with akkoma and gotosocial (and a few others) as software that can be used to build island networks
for me that would require that everyone who wants to use it as a website league instance also be okay with having their stuff on the fediverse, something a significant number of website league users absolutely do not want for cultural reasons
Is it mandatory for wafrn instances to be connected to each other, and if so, why?
The ideal here would be something that federates with other WL instances by default, and then has opt-in fediverse and bluesky support
wafrn-fediverse cross-share test post
i can wait for it to become an automated process if there are plans for that; i would probably want to migrate to my own instance.
is there even a character limit on here or is my mind Freed
notes: sharing mastodon content doesn't show up on a wafrn account's bluesky page
sharing wafrn content on mastodon (public) is an unsuccessful test because my profile shows as empty when viewed from my mastodon instance, except for having 9 followers. maybe i have to wait for it to load [...]
website league is an activitypub island network that uses allowlist filtering; it's separate from the fediverse and has standards for running an instance and a unified community code. this'd be turning off the fediverse, not activitypub
or just turn it off entirely (all posts are limited [...]
really, mostly, this would be for setting up wafrn as a Website League instance that's allowlist-federated with the League. The per-user instead of per-instance integration with Bluesky is an excellent concept, and making a Website League instance that lets users opt in to having it act as[...]
concept: per-user ability to disable fediverse support (no shade)
How does this work with post dating on bluesky? like, does the entire thing show up in everyone's feed, or does it show up in the correct order with the actual post dates on it
if it would import my posts and keep accessibility on Bluesky intact i am extremely interested
if there ever is one i may set up an instance and migrate there Immediately
idly wondering how hard it'd be to strip global feed and post metrics out of the frontend and use allowlist federation support for the Website League
damn this is cool. i assume there is absolutely no way to migrate a bluesky account to wafrn (yet?)
i really hope this software has post folding because this one is a REALLY long post. a REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY [...]
