I haven’t read the book! Brian loved the book and loved the film, too! Loads of fans of the book were extremely happy after the film tonight, so I can assume it’s a brilliant adaptation. It’s just excellent.
Just saw Project Hail Mary. Absolutely LOVED it! It’s a funny, heartwarming, hopeful sci-fi. Just perfect. Definitely see it on the biggest screen you can- the premiere was IMAX. 👍👍👍

Pretty sure you can ripen fruit with apples in a bag, too. I use a banana to ripen avocados and it usually works pretty quickly (2 days)…
Obvs they shouldn’t be sold as “perfectly ripe”, but you can try to put them in a paper bag with a banana for a day or two…?

Agree. When you know people who have [X] and have struggled their whole life - education, work and relationships are nearly impossible- then know people with a degree, a career, a relationship who *self-diagnosed* w/ [X] and built a career around it, you realise how BS this current situation is.

I was doing a Fine Art BA in 2020. One student said she was at her parents house (in Greece!) and didn’t have oil paints which was A DISASTER. I told her to have some perspective- people were dying all over the world. A group of students attacked me for that. There were a lot of entitled arseholes.
On Election Day 1988, the 1st time I voted, I attended a rally that Jesse Jackson spoke at. He talked about our responsibility as citizens to vote. It blew my mind. Afterwards, he lead the crowd to the voting booths. Every time I’ve voted since then, I’ve thought of him. www.bbc.com/news/live/c3...
