I was treated to lovely views of the Hoopoe in Stamford Bridge at the back end of September. Having spoken to the homeowner, I sat in my car watching the lawn it liked to forage on and was treated to epic views with nobody else around

Thanks to @nathanieldargue.bsky.social for info- the ringed Lesser White-fronted Goose in the flock was released as a juvenile in 2018 and it’s the first time this bird has been seen in the UK, only seen on breeding grounds in Sweden and wintering grounds in Netherlands so far
After dawn at Swinemoor, it was a joy to head to North Landing and watch the seven Lesser White-fronts, one of which is bearing Swedish colour-rings. They spent the whole time bullying their companion Russian White-front juvenile
