"WOMEN'S TROUBLES" Stand-up comedy routine by Catie Wilkins YouTube video by That Wilkins

Celebrating this #internationalwomensday with my “WOMEN’S TROUBLES” stand-up comedy routine from my 2025 Edinburgh Show WE’LL SEE. This was my most talked about routine of that show.
So what better way to celebrate #IWD than with #womenstroubles #standupcomedy #comedy youtu.be/WSeT-ffjpR8

"Friends" is a beloved American sitcom that aired from 1994 to 2004, following six young adults—Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe—living in New York City. The show explores their friendships, romances, careers, and personal growth over ten seasons.

I agree it’s significant though, and that they are one of our best pollsters (I always have some reservation about Find Out Now, who are most bullish about the Greens, as they seem to have appeared from nowhere).

What I also found significant was that it placed them just 2% behind Reform.

“& have been more bearish on the greens relative to the average”

Is that true? Only Find Out Now and Ashcroft seem to regularly place the Greens on higher percentages. Survation, Opinium, More in Common and others consistently show the Greens several points lower than YouGov do.

Interesting reactions to the Green’s win:

- Announce new anti-refugee legislation
- Allow US to use UK military bases in Trump’s unlawful attacks on Iran
- Slash climate aid programmes

So their response to losing a seat to the Greens is to double down on becoming more like Reform?

Argh, it’s so fucking annoying that BBC keep switching the curling to different channels during a game.

It’s especially annoying because I’m watching on iPlayer, not even an actual TV channel.

I guess, Reading Festival.

Seems weird to call it a date, but then the idea of going on a date has always seemed weird to me.

The extent to which this guy can’t cope with the reality of other people being different to him is staggering.

Next on Farage’s list of “you’re different than me so are wrong and I don’t like you and you have no right to exist”:

Introverts!

I do always feel this is partly because we start with lower expectations for Tories. Though, generally based on assuming they’ll be evil, rather than incompetent.

I won’t fantasise about a left wing leader. Surely they’ve made that impossible with everyone they’ve kicked out or driven away, and rules they’ve changed.

Also, can people line up their “we don’t elect a prime minister” arguments, so we don’t have an election and Reform winning.

I’m all for Starmer going, but who the hell would replace him? Hopefully Streeting is sullied by Mandelson associations too (as he’s the worst). Which leave Rayner? Anyone else? Miliband return? Cooper?

What a mess!

Though, very much less normal to have a “mug drawer”.

Normal

Also, it’s Peter fucking Mandelson. Assume he is lying to you at all times always.

(I’m in danger of overusing this image lately, but it’s just so apt)

Mandelson "lied repeatedly to my team" and "I regret appointing him", Starmer says after new
Epstein emails

Mandelson "lied repeatedly to my team" and "I regret appointing him", Starmer says after new Epstein emails

If only there had been any kind of warning from history about Mandelson’s trustworthiness and honesty. If only.

But no, Starmer had no reason to doubt him.

Though, overall missing the simple answer of “Starmer’s just a bit s**t, and a bit of a s**t”.

“I think a fundamental problem of the project to install Starmer as leader … was the necessity of pretending to support Corbynism, … I admire Keir Starmer’s ruthlessness in winning the leadership”

or put another way:

“Starmer lied to become leader, and I admired him for it”

Just, wow!

Some amazing honesty here.

“It would have been better if he had not become so unpopular so quickly”

But does leaving Elon’s BS out of the movie help Ron Howard atone for the sin of directing the Hillbilly Elegy movie?

The most generous interpretation of the evidence would seem to be that when ICE agents heard he had a gun they panicked and overreacted, not realising he’d already been safely disarmed. Even given that most generous interpretation it is obvious the Trump Administration is lying about what happened.

27.01.2026 11:21 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

“reach different conclusions”?

Do you seriously believe the Trump administration “reached the conclusion” that Alex Pretti was posing any kind of immediate threat to ICE agents?

They are lying to protect their actions and further their narrative. Anyone who can’t see this is stupid, or also lying.

Typo there, I think “non metropolitan England” was supposed to be “morons who believe whatever rightwing tabloids tell them”

Labour need to stop trying to win over idiots who’ll never vote for them. This is literally their biggest mistake, as it loses them voters and gives legitimacy to Reform.

Everywhere I’ve seen has reported it’s down to Labour rules due to him being mayor, for example:

“Labour Party rules give the NEC a veto over regional mayors contesting parliamentary elections under a change introduced after the last election, designed to prevent costly mayoral by-elections.”

25.01.2026 13:09 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

How come Khan can? Wouldn’t the NEC need to approve him too?

I struggle to see Labour recovering ahead of the next election without Burnham. I can’t see it happening with Starmer.

To put the preservation of the Starmer project ahead of electability says to me they don’t care about winning the next election. If they don’t care, why should anyone else?
