Even better than than 82cm. I believe these scans are not full resolution. And apparently the KH-8 satellites achieved better than 10cm resolution in the 60s and 70s

Its working fine for me here. Downloading imagery and all. Hopefully it'll come back around for you

The Runit Dome and a crater from the Redwing Lacrosse test at Runit Island of Enewetak Atoll.
Taken by a KH-9 HEXAGON spy satellite on 1984-02-05.
I'll get to work on getting the full image online now
My new article is up. It is about Ukraine's attack on a space tracking station and the history of that large facility during the Cold War: thespacereview.com/article/5155/1
A lot of complaining about this π
As I'm migrating media from my old site to the new one I found an unpublished blog from 2024 about the commercial satellite imagery industry and its problems. I never had the guts to publish it and might just delete it π
Even if I published it the companies wouldn't take note anyway
The new spacefromspace.com site (surprise!) seems to be up and running smoothly.
I wanted to bring a more simple and easy to use flow to access the images and I hope this provides that. Please take a look around!
Some things still need tweaking and adding but it's mostly there.
I am so tired of fragile little men starting wars. I am so tired of fragile little men making policy decisions that harm us all. I am so tired of fragile little men doing horrendous harm to children and expecting us all to forget about it. I am so tired of fragile little men with their tantrums.
It would be cool to make a visual guide for the different types of sites based on these declassified images
I'm honestly not too sure. Might need to dig through some CIA docs to get a better idea. Someone has marked them as S-200 on Wikimapia, but I'm not sure how accurate that is wikimapia.org#lang=en&lat=...
A newer KH-7 GAMBIT spy satellite scan of Area 35 at Sary Shagan, Kazakhstan from June 12, 1967.

Thanks! I'll check this out!
That's really cool. I'll have to get more cloud free declassified imagery over the site so we can try to get a better before/after comparison
The amount of little things one can spot when georeferencing is high haha
When I was doing some (very tired) georeferencing the other week I saw this (maps.app.goo.gl/WE4SkG8zhtfb...) and thought "Wow! Lava! ... wait..." π
I just published a new update post for my Patreon supporters who help keep spacefromspace.com online as well as help funding new satellite image captures.

A photo of a printed KH-7 GAMBIT spy satellite images of Baku Azerbaijan in 1966.
I've been wanting to get some spy satellite images printed for a while now and just got this one of Baku, Azerbaijan from 1966 done.
It's really nice to see it in a physical format.
Stay tuned for more like this

I've fixed a few more issues so the map should be running smoother now.
I'll keep an eye on things as I add more images to the site and see how well the auto-update functions.
Thanks for the awesome support, team!
I've fixed a few issues with the map based search as well as adding a button to views stats and a share button.
Thank you! That's really great feedback
