Just published in JOSS: 'GRAPE.jl: Gradient Ascent Pulse Engineering in Julia' https://doi.org/10.21105/joss.08813
Published a new #JuliaLang package MuxDisplay for using a pane of a multiplexer like #Tmux or #WezTerm as a plotting window when working in a (remote) terminal. Announcement in discourse.julialang.org/t/ann-muxdis...
App store banner showing Muse as App of the Day for Oct 7th, 2025
Apple has chosen Muse as today's App of the Day! Every day is a good day for cozy thinking: apps.apple.com/us/story/id1...
A quick note on Lindblad operators in composite systems. Something I've been confused about for years. #quantum goerz-research.github.io/2025-09-11_C...
Also contains a useful #JuliaLang implementation for a partial trace function, if you ever need that (surprisingly tricky!)

Normalize v1.0 of software adding no new features. 1.0 comes with an expectation of greater stability than pre-1.0 releases. Debuting new features in that release makes it less stable, not more. Put the new features in an earlier release and let them stabilize *before* the 1.0.
I've encapsulated my strategy for managing #GitHub PRs (rebase and merge with merge-commit) into a "git merge-pr" command: github.com/goerz/git-me...
I started using Python 20 years ago, but left and come back to it repeatedly. Every time I picked it back up, the dev experience had swung wildly. Getting caught up, even as an experienced user, was a huge PITA.
I think that's finally going to change with what @tdhopper.com just launched.
The talk in Europe is “how to get a seat at the table.” Respectfully, that’s the wrong question. The right question is, “how can Europe build a new table.”
I added some memory to this quantum feed.
Let's see if this works.
The quantum community out here seems to get more lively with time.
Still slower than X somehow.
Convince your friends to join here.

Rewrote my jupytext.vim plugin in Lua for Neovim over the holidays: github.com/goerz/jupyte.... Try it out if you want to edit #Jupyter notebooks directly in #Neovim
github.com/Robitx/gp.nvim, in my opinion. Also see youtu.be/GKQ9rJ12hjc?...
Attention #JuliaLang package devs! Use DocumenterInterLinks.jl! If you haven't built your docs in forever, rebuild them with a recent Documenter version so they include an inventory file so others can interlink with them. That is all. github.com/JuliaDocs/Do...
Let me know if you want your #quantum tagged posts to be listed in this quantum feed: bsky.app/profile/did:... .
That would be great!
I created the layout (with some mnemonics in mind), and I’ve been using some version of it for 15 years. So most of it, I remember. When I forget something, I pull up that blog post.
I use a custom keyboard layout: michaelgoerz.net/notes/the-us...
Julia REPL which activates the Bluesky project, and calls a function which simulates creating a new post on the julialanguage Bluesky account!
Hello @bsky.app from the #JuliaLang community!
We're excited to start posting here on Bluesky in addition to our other social media, all of which can be found here: julialang.org
We'll keep you updated on our fantastic community, our conferences, #JuliaLang updates, and more on this profile!
Could you add me to the list?
At last there is a #MindscapePodcast Bluesky list! Gotta say, a dang impressive list of names here.
Still very partial, let me know if anyone is missing.
(If you look closely you could deduce tomorrow's guest.)

Just created a starter package to find cool ML for quantum people here. Please help me find others and self-nominate! (i am new since yesterday, if this is supposed to be differently handled, let me know, thx hah)

Hey quantum crowd!
I made a quantum feed: bsky.app/profile/did:...
Let me know if you want to be on the list for your quantum posts to be seen there by replying to this post.
Share a link to your personal web page at your quantum lab, company or startup or your google scholar as a credential.
Would love to join!
If you'd like to know whether a quantum computing claim is bullshit or not bullshit, I highly recommend following @bullshitquantum.bsky.social 🧪⚛️
The thing Bluesky needs the most is for Tapbots to build an app.
It drives me nuts that the notation of the time-ordered exponential implies that it is a function Texp(∙) with an integral as its argument inside 🤬

Could you add me to the starter pack?
A paper a day keeps the FOMO away, episode 4.
Not so much a paper as a lifesaver. The “matrix cookbook” might be the only cookbook I open on a regular basis. If you’re doing linear algebra, you need this one, and guess what…
