Her husband wanted to use ChatGPT to create sustainable housing. Then it took over his life. Kate Fox says Joe Ceccanti was the ‘most hopeful person’ before he started spending 12 hours a day with a chatbot

Please note that Chrome pushed an update, and

YOUR DEV CONSOLE (history) MAY BE READ BY HUMAN REVIEWERS.

Sure, console should never be treated as a secure env, but I still fucking hate this.

Same, I've been wondering when someone will write a self-replicating piece of poetry that will recursively have the agents drive one another, DoS all the things. Can't be far off!

We need to structurally separate user data from applications so that applications become *users* of data rather than *containers* for it.

Anyone Else Have Those Weird Dreams Where Sobbing Future Generations Beg You To Change Course? The human subconscious is such an interesting thing. No matter how much you think you’ve got it figured out, it’ll always spit out the most random stuff. Take me, for example. After coming home from a...

Experimenting with having some shards locked behind clearing a room to incentivise combat a bit more. Still a bit iffy on the linking graphics though. lmk what you think!

One can acknowledge that it is possible to learn things (better and faster) from an LLM while also despairing the 20k sloc PR that just popped up (you know: the one that no human has fully read or understands).

These tools magnify everything, including our capacity to avoid thinking for ourselves.

Wondering if they *knew* the URL is funny and rolled with it, or if they have no idea.

Nazis are always obsessed with hurting trans people

Probably because their existence proves that everything about the fascist “natural order” is built on sand

The critical ingredients for data sovereignty are portable data, portable identity and end-to-end encryption. Without the latter you don't actually control or own your data. Ownership is about controlling access. These have all been fundamental to the @peergos.org design since 2013.

People Loved the Dot-Com Boom. The A.I. Boom, Not So Much.

stories like this will mention the AI "doomer narrative" (SkyNet will kill us all, often pushed by industry insiders), but not mention it pre-empts more realistic criticism (Grok's data center in Memphis is aiming its pollution directly at black people) the industry doesn't want to talk about

It's a neat argument because he's not leaning at all on the quality of the homily's prose or the creativity required to write it, but the intersubjective exchange it consummates.

user agency is anti-capitalist.

when not explicitly anti-capitalist,

user agency is capitalism-retardant.

I printed it and stuck self-adhesive copper tape to it. There's copper tape with conductive adhesive so you can add multiple overlapping pieces and it counts as one conductive surface.

Then I used the second part of the mold to shape the copper, so that it sticks inside the recessed traces.

Then I used sandpaper to file away at the raised ridges. The copper traces are now electrically independent of each other. Done!

But if I want, I can remove the extra copper tape.

The companion mold at the bottom. This second 3D-printed part pushes the copper tape down into the recessed trace channels so it conforms to the shape. The two parts sandwich together with alignment spikes to keep everything registered.

I made a tool that turns PCB designs into 3D-printable molds. you sandwich copper tape between the parts, sand the ridges, and you have a real working PCB. no etching, no chemicals. I am losing my mind
