Trinket trade always ends up being one of my fav parts of GDC each year. Sooo many nice people and amazing art going around 🥹
The pitch is always "now your NPCS can talk forever!" And they never seem to realize how terrible that is for game design now that you cannot be sure literally anything they say is critical information

I think it needs to be studied how much a character with fucked up and evil eyes can appeal to the teenage demographic (eg sonic.exe, spamton/IMAGE_FRIEND types, skibidi toilet, fnaf)
importantly they have to still have eyes, they just need to be fucked up in some way.

in more related news, dailies have been on pause because things got super busy for me halfway through January (teaching as an adjunct!) I do miss sitting down and just making something every night. Will try to at least make the time to do a piece on weekends, even if it's not the daily theme anymore
i got a sandwich from the deli for lunch and when i saw how giant it was i was like "aw nice that'll be lunch and for later" and then when i sat to eat it i got so into a video i was watching i didn't realize i ate the whole sandwich and now i feel like big chungus in the flesh

I'm always so shy to document my own process, but I just realized it's pretty fun to see how things are going

Pipworm and Reedburm: Bug monsters inspired by bagpipes and bagworms.

Rather than using natural materials, these bagworms built their casings with discarded reed instruments. The anatomy also adopted the musical capabilities, which they utilize to scare off predators. When synchronized, their song can be heard from miles away.
