State Councillor T. Burkart, Amb. J. Gerber, GICHD Director & Amb. T. Privitelli, & FSD Director H. Eberle highlighted the impact of landmines & how #MineAction enables safe reconstruction.
By identifying #risks, reporting dangerous objects and sharing #safety advice with neighbours, Oleksandr’s efforts complement FSD’s #MineAction work in the area — helping reduce risks while clearance and risk education activities take place.

🏘When war reached his small border village in the Chernihiv region, #Ukraine, the priorities of Oleksandr Artiushenko, the Head of the local community, changed overnight. Instead of building roads and parks, he began focusing on #protecting his residents from explosive hazards.
Throughout the event, we engaged with visitors, explaining the importance of #humanitarian mine action. The simulated #minefield installation by Kommando KAMIR of the Swiss Armed Forces gave visitors engaging insights into how landmines and unexploded ordnance are detected and cleared.

SECO, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), and FSD signed an MoU at the #ICForumCH 2026 to strengthen mechanical #demining capacity in #Ukraine.

⏳ Today marks four years since the full-scale conflict in #Ukraine. Since then, vast areas of land have been contaminated by landmines and UXOs.
Today, we observe this solemn anniversary with respect, #solidarity, and a continued #commitment to the people of Ukraine.
🌾 Before land can be cleared, FSD teams carry out non-technical surveys to identify hazardeous areas.
During this process, land found to be free of #contamination is released — allowing farmers in Chernihiv, #Ukraine return to their fields sooner.

🤝In #Mindanao, Philippines, FSD signed a new #agreement with the Operations Centre for Explosive Hazard Management Response involving former conflict actors.
