🏘When war reached his small border village in the Chernihiv region, #Ukraine, the priorities of Oleksandr Artiushenko, the Head of the local community, changed overnight. Instead of building roads and parks, he began focusing on #protecting his residents from explosive hazards.

Throughout the event, we engaged with visitors, explaining the importance of #humanitarian mine action. The simulated #minefield installation by Kommando KAMIR of the Swiss Armed Forces gave visitors engaging insights into how landmines and unexploded ordnance are detected and cleared.

SECO, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), and FSD signed an MoU at the #ICForumCH 2026 to strengthen mechanical #demining capacity in #Ukraine.

FSD experts will work closely with SESU technicians to provide support in the maintenance of demining machines.

🌾 Before land can be cleared, FSD teams carry out non-technical surveys to identify hazardeous areas.

During this process, land found to be free of #contamination is released — allowing farmers in Chernihiv, #Ukraine return to their fields sooner.
