Firewatch was the reason I bought a PS4. Finished it, stared at the wall for a bit, then sold the console. Totally worth it.
I’m still wating 😀
Added recipe-from-image to Cuukbuuk. Upload a photo of a dish or old recipe book page and the AI turns it into a full recipe. You can use just the image or add your own description.

Added manual recipe editing to Cuukbuuki. Now you can just tweak the recipe details yourself instead of always asking the AI to do it. The AI still checks your changes and automatically updates things like the instructions if you modify the ingredients, so everything stays consistent.

Got OG images working properly in Cuukbuuki 🎉
Now when you share a recipe link on Bluesky (or anywhere else), the preview actually shows the food photo instead of just a boring plain link. Small change, but it makes sharing feel way nicer.

I tried Weight! and really liked how clean and simple the UI is. It feels very polished. The only thing I missed on first launch was setting a goal (like target weight by a date) with a goal line to track progress over time.
But overall: really great first impression! 🙌

I redesigned the entire Cuukbuuk app. The update is largely built on clean Faunder UI. The goal was less clutter and more clarity.

Qwant is quickly becoming my favorite search engine. Qwant’s UI is clean and beautiful — and the search results don’t feel like a shopping mall. Honestly refreshing after Google.

Nice to meet you 🖖
Thanks Adam Argyle (@nerdy.dev) for the animated details/summary approach — I found what I think is the cleanest way to do it on your blog and used it in Faunder UI’s ui-accordion.

#FaunderUI changelog:
ui-icon: Besides mask icon, now supports svg, img, and content (span). Same sizing and styling: <i ui-icon>, <svg ui-icon>, <img ui-icon>, <span ui-icon>emoji</span>. Size via --ui-icon-size or ui-icon="sm"/"lg".

#FaunderUI changelog:
Layout helpers: ui-column, ui-row, and ui-margin keep layouts consistent (same xs–6xl scale) and make structure easier.
Example: ui-column="gap-lg x-center", ui-row="wrap gap-md", ui-margin="top-lg".

#FaunderUI changelog:
No more separate ui-card-link element inside ui-card — ui-card works directly on <a>. The card can be the link: <a ui-card href="#">...</a>.

ui-accordion: Added animations (open/close, content height and opacity) and support for custom summary icons.

#FaunderUI changelog:
Components no longer use class names - each has its own ui-x attribute (e.g. ui-button, ui-container). Variants and utilities are easier to manage, and your own styles won’t clash. Example: <button ui-button="primary lg">.

Näitä on tullut ihmeteltyä vuodesta 2000 asti. Afterdawn on ainoa sivusto jossa olen säännöllisesti vierailut nyt 25 vuotta. Kiitos siitä.
Just added a new Field component to Faunder UI ✨
Labels, inputs, hints, errors — all nicely aligned and consistent by default. Forms shouldn’t be the hardest part of UI.

Just shipped a new Cuukbuuk UI.
Honestly really proud of this — it’s getting close to what I want Cuukbuuk to be. Simple, calm, and easy to use.
I don’t understand websites where content is intentionally revealed with delays. Why make interfaces slower on purpose?
A “premium feel” doesn’t come from waiting.

Yellow = correct number in the wrong position
Green = correct number in the correct position
These instructions would have helped with understanding.
Good game!
Answering myself: yes — @scope ([data-scope="component"]) to ([data-scope]) works really well for component styling.
🔹 proper encapsulation
🔹 no style leakage into nested components
🔹 no BEM or build step needed
Finally a native, pure-CSS way to do component styles. This was the missing piece. 🎯
I solve that by letting components “vote” with @supports not.
Unsupported features show a clear warning instead of a broken UI.
Pure CSS. No anxiety about iOS 16 — as long as the project doesn’t require legacy support.
Just wrote about single-file Preact components. It's a simple approach that brings some of that Vue SFC feeling to Preact without any build step. If you're into minimal setups, you might find it interesting:

Lately I’ve been building something I call Faunder Stack.
It’s a small, opinionated full-stack setup focused on understanding over abstraction: Bun, Preact, htm, SQLite, native CSS, and an explicit SSR snapshot model.
No frameworks, no magic — just trying to make full-stack understandable again.
Wow. And coming first to the new models from the Finnish Verge. Definitely putting the Verge TS on my dream list.
The goal was 12 launches — I shipped six.
I’m genuinely happy with these:
• Cuukbuuk, which I use almost daily for creating and managing recipes (cuukbuuk.com)
• Faunder UI, steadily improving and already making new projects easier (ui.faunder.fi)
