I love R for everything statistics, but I've always been a little jealous of statisticians using SPSS Complex Samples or SAS SURVEYSELECT to design their samples.
So I decided to build samplyr, a tidy and pipe-friendly grammar for survey sampling design in #rstats.

Unfortunately, all Census TIGER/Line and cartographic boundary shapefiles are down as of this evening.
This means that the tigris #rstats and pygris #Python packages will not work, and geometry support in tidycensus will also fail.
The Census API, for now, is still up.

Statistician Gertrude Mary Cox was born 125 years ago today! Her 1950 text Experimental Design was for years a standard reference for how to design experiments that are statistically meaningful and replicable, and she co-founded the Biometric Society.
