TLA+ is so amazing because it lets me explore potential systems much faster than I could by writing actual code. Absolutely see why it’s invaluable when writing distributed systems, but it’s already valuable in simple client server systems. There are failure modes I never would have thought of!

It’s insane how pretty much every system becomes dramatically simpler, and more performant, when you explicitly model it as a state machine.
Equally insane how hard it is to write these sorts of state machines correctly and easily in most mainstream programming languages.
