today in music organizing software: standing up a local musicbrainz replica, since the public replica is 1qps limited and apparently that dataset is only 30-40gb (pretty fine for local matching)

...acoustID is hundreds of gigs and way more annoying to reconstruct locally though

high key i have fixed so many obscure mDNS / routing issues thanks to the LLMs being able to pore through documentation, source, and stackoverflow much faster than I can - and that's my usual trubleshooting workflow, anyhow.

feels weird poking through acoustID's api responses/docs, and musicbrainz's api/docs, and realizing that like.... most of the software written using these two services, don't really combine the data sources correctly D:

i think musicbrainz picard is the only software to do so, and it's gui-only...
