Today I had a run out to check on our vagrant Burrowing Owl, it's gone. On the way back, found my year Red-bellied Woodpecker. The species is slowly colonising Nova Scotia, although this year there seems to be fewer around. #birds #birding #NovaScotia

A photo of a very large owl perched in a tree at night, with dead branches and black sky behind it. It has unusual pink, fleshy eyelids and dark shiny eyes.

Verreaux’s eagle owl. A very large African owl. Females can be over two feet tall. Not the best picture as the light was completely gone by the time, but you can see its distinctive pink eyelids.

A finch with a very wide beak appears to be looking annoyed at the camera. It has a bright yellow band across its forehead and most of its body is an orangey-brown. The face is dark brown and the beak horn coloured. The wings have bright white secondaries on top of black primary feathers. It is perched on a thin willow branch.

Smh can’t believe you’ve resorted to spreading misinformation. I expected better from you funny owl man. We all know owls don’t have opposable thumbs OR fluffy paws (sadly). Because of this, I am sad to say I will be reporting you to Ms. Bluesky

One of the first #birds to arrive in the Spring is the Golden-crowned Kinglet. Conversely, they're one of the last to arrive come autumn. Quick, tiny with a perchance for pine trees, they can be difficult to photograph--yet sometimes they pose. #BirdingOH #Nature #Photography #GoldencrownedKinglet
