Like many services, as Signal grows, it becomes a more appealing place for scammers to try and cause harm.
We've put together tips to help you protect yourself from phishing, scams, & impersonation attempts. Plus info about how Signal support communicates.

Pocket change. Who among us hasnβt forgotten about that spare Β£380k we pocketed in a 12 month periodβ¦..

I haveβ¦. regrets. Did a 2km OM3 pull in 2009 because thereβs no way weβd ever need more than 100Mbps of internet on that line ;-) back then the rationale was the difference in transceiver cost between multimode and single mode. Now itβs fractional - same with cable cost
You probably wonβt have issues with OM3 right now - youβll get 10Gb at up to 300m, but the cost of the work is the labour and not the cable - and in 10 years time if weβre all hanging on the back of 100Gb domestic connectivity then youβll have a bottleneck
Ex-fibre engineer here. Futureproof thyself and go single mode. Limitations on throughput at distance with multi mode. You should be looking at OS1 rather than OM3/4.
Ends/connectors less relevant as you can always use patches that will switch connector type.

Stopped clocks twice a dayβ¦.
Weirdly I find trail long distance less stressful on the hips and joints. Less impact and more variation of motion. I feel better after a trail marathon than I do a road halfβ¦.. would recommend any of the Hardmoors race series if you do feel compelled. My first ultra was the 55 :-)
To run again. Cursed injury has kept me off the trails for 2025. Need to ease back into it.
For your 100km challenge, may I suggest the www.hardmoors110.org.uk/hardmoors-60/
Organised by lovely people, great scenery and a challenging race!
Right to the very coreβ¦β¦ thank you for articulating
I should add - great, actionable advice though!
Iβd add a footnote to the MFA/Passkey section. Literally ever SME Iβve worked with has users who refuse to install Authenticator apps on their devices - rather than arguing, offer Yubikeys - Β£25 and the problem is solved
