After a nice stay in the Flagship lounge, it’s time for flight 2: AA204 PHL-AMS on a 787-8 with the infamous Concept D seats.

I’m in rear-facing seat 4L, staring directly at the person in 4H so that’s fun

I ordered the Centennial Beef Wellington - so should be a good 6.5 hours!

Some small critiques: position of the shower handle under the water flow, lack of a second seat / surface for belongings, and little details like the mis-rotated shower handle.

Overall 7.8/10. Behind things like QR Garden / CX F lounges that nail those little details, but still quite nice.

Airport shower #1 of 2026: PHL Flagship lounge. Very nice first impression - clean, quality towels, quality products, nice material selection - and I love the retro key.

Also worth noting I didn’t have to wait at all, even at absolute peak time (~6:20pm)

Nice quick flight - including an Athletic beer and snacks.

I feel like I haven’t been at PHL in 4+ years, since AA cut PHL - ITH. Going to walk my way over to A.

Gate A3 at IAH is kind of wild. Surprised that mainline flights also go out of here.

Wild travel month(s) start now: AA5224 DCA - IAH on a PSA CRJ-900.

Upgrade cleared exactly at the 100 hour window, and there’s only 32 pax total on this one - 8 pax had to get moved reward for weight and balance.

Flew this same frame DCA - MCI three years and one day ago.

it did indeed run 3x daily in October 2025 … but only for that month

Like when the suites get certified, are they going to rip out all 44 and fit the suites + 12 PE?

Or rip out 32 F seats and install the suites, leaving 9-11 as they are today? I’m curious if there might be a difference

I have a ~4.5 hour layover there so I’ll have lots of time to experience it. Expecting it to basically be like DCA E

I think I’m predicting 2 (PHL Flagship lounge). Not sure there’s another opportunity unless the one world lounge at AMS has showers.

8 should be the last row of the “temp” seats, right? would row 9 have a leg rest if it’s the true PE seat? not sure what that would be on DL

PTVs were not active, but this satellite WiFi was excellent from gate to gate.

And flight 2: AC8788 YYZ-DCA on an E175, with PTVs! YYZ pre-clearance was a breeze tonight.

Also realizing the four flights of this trip were on aircraft made by four different manufacturers.

Wonderful long weekend in Quebec City comes to a close, it’s go home day. Flight 1 is AC1957 YQB-YYZ operated by an Air Canada Rouge A319.

Flight 2: AC1158 YUL - YQB on a 737 MAX8. Connection was simple but shorter than I would’ve liked, basically walked straight onboard from security.

Didn’t realize that this fleet already had a full economy config. Comfortable enough but glad this fight is only like 35 minutes.

Does AC have bigger bins on these? I cannot believe my full-sized carryon:

a) was allowed down the jet bridge
b) fit without any issue in the overhead bin

A brisk walk from C19 to A28 for flight 2: AA 2151 DFW - DCA onboard a 737-MAX8. Upgrade cleared ~30 hours pre-departure on a hub to hub route 🤯

WiFi auth did not cache between aircraft, which kinda makes sense.

3/3 (only two different frames) - already connected at the gate before push. All 737-800s

Go home day, just before the storm. Flight 1: AA1435 AUS - DFW. Upgrade cleared to 1A about 5 seconds before boarding 🤠

Really decent brisket in the admirals club … really nice start to this journey.

Interesting edge case for the free WiFi - back to back fights on the same frame. Had to rewatch one ad but the site otherwise cached my auth.

Curious if that repeats on my way home, presumably on two different frames.
