How many of those AI vs. craftsmanship posts do we still have to endure? As if it were 100% one or the other.
It is amazing how many companies I talk to STILL have AI effectively blocked by IT & legal departments for out-of-date reasons when many companies in regulated industries have figured out ways to deploy enterprise ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini (including CLIs like Code) without any apparent problem.
Boy, is Codex Spark fast!
I heard the other day that they had to slow it down a bit for updates in the Codex app to stream smoothly.
Good to be back
So bad? Started using it again this week after being out sick for 2 weeks. Haven't noticed anything (too) bad yet.
I always wondered why `claude update` is so slow. Asked Codex to debug it. Turns out that the latest binary is downloaded every single time. π

In light of today's outages, I wrote a small script that I run as part of my Claude Code wrapper to learn about current Claude incidents.

How do you combine both?
It's strange they didn't name the model, and that the author refers to himself in the third person before switching to first person at the end. Still promising if it holds up.
Noticing a pattern: Peter Steinberger, Mario Zechner, Armin Ronacherβall Austrian, all shaping core AI and dev tools. Coincidence, or something in the water?
@chadfowler.com One thing I noticed while reading through your series: doesn't aicoding.leaflet.pub/3mcxo5ojob22c say the exact opposite of aicoding.leaflet.pub/3maob46kbz22v about the regeneration (pace) of UI vs backend components?
Am I the only one for whom the mobile layout is broken?
Congrats. 50+ points is good!
Book cover of "Designing Data-Intensive Applications, 2nd edition". It has a similar wild boar on the cover as the first edition, but it uses O'Reilly's new cover design, and the boar is now slightly colourised.
The second edition of Designing Data-Intensive Applications, by myself and @chris.blue, is finished and sent off to the printers! Ebooks should be available in the next week, and print books in 3β4 weeks. Sigh of relief. π
(BTW, this is a good opportunity to support your favourite local bookshop!)
