What did you try exactly?
I found hundreds of political ads running in the local election in the Netherlands so far, I can assure you they are not looking for any keywords π it is just a non-working system. I can send you what I have if you are curious
More data on my reclamer dashboard:

Interesting to see: the self-reported political campaign spending in the Netherlands during the upcoming 18th March local elections surpasses even how much money was spent in the national election.
Though complaining about EU regulation or promoting your new party is hardly posting "photo with a pizza" :)
That's certainly worth examining closer. I would argue it still serves as promoting your brand as a politician and thus could influence voters (look I'm just like you). The more consistent rule would be to not allow politicians and parties to run ads on their accounts, regardless of the content.
I don't know what happened to those screenshots! But if you want to check for yourself you can see here: www.facebook.com/ads/library/...
The account is self-identified as a politician.
This would be the simplest enforcement in the world if Meta actually cared. Political actors who break the rules get access to Meta's powerful targeting infrastructure. This distorts political competition in their favor over those who follow rules.
The "political ad ban" on Meta does not exist. It's just a number of people volunteering not to run political ads on the one hand and those who just do it anyway on the other.
There is no "political ad ban" on Meta. A ban that isn't enforced isn't a ban.
Former AfD leader Frauke Petry and now leader of a splinter party is running several political ads on Meta. One has been active since Oct 23 and reached 171k people across Germany.
How can you not love the ASoIaF fandom? Everyone is everyone.
Exactly. It's predatory. seeking out vulnerable people to exploit them.
This sounds amazing!
Instead of spiraling at 2am with your own thoughts you will have five half-baked text predictors spiraling with you! So you can finally stop arguing with yourself... and START arguing with sycophantic LLMs that enable your late-night anxious ruminations FROM EVERY ANGLE!
Raise your hand if youve been using ffmpeg since college and had no idea that it stood for fast forward moving picture expert group [the file format standardized by the group, not the group itself]

I don't know who needs to hear this but you need to listen to music (more).
I somehow forgot about music. The world is in major suck mode right now and I listen to news every free minute to make sense of the insanity.
If that's you, please listen to music more. It's good for your soul. Take care.
Excited to share a new preprint with @bnbakker.bsky.social, @ylelkes.bsky.social & @gijsschumacher.bsky.social!

Affective polarization research focuses almost exclusively on valence, despite affect having at least two core dimensions. We show that emotional arousal matters!
π dashboardr is out!

Love this! I was wondering about this a year ago and glad someone has actually worked on this. Fascinating stuff.

Excited to share our new report on Dutch election integrity!
As an academic researcher, one of the most rewarding aspects of my work is when our research can directly inform public debate. That's exactly what happened with the Hybrid Election Integrity Observatory (HEIO).
