Definitely run more. Cook from scratch and stop eating UPFs. Play the piano and accordion again. Probably start sewing again. Do loads of fell walking with my husband. Play with the dog. Clean and redecorate the house. The list goes on.

Great!, would you be willing to tell us where you live and what type of UBI was implemented that failed?
I'd initially keep working to save for retirement and pay off my house, but both of those things would happen faster. I'd support local arts and businesses. I'd take more time off, travel more, volunteer more.
I would finally finish the novel series, and poetry chapbooks, busk and record my blues-soul-gospel-jazz sound, maybe try my hand at drawing and painting…
We're not terribly well off but have education privilege already, so I think we'd probably be saving some of it for the children's education and some for a slightly larger house. But it would also mean we could comfortably go on holiday, so that bit would go back into the economy.
I would design knitting patterns and not feel so bad that I'm disabled and can't work full time.
I'm about to get it (effectively) - a state pension. Am I going golfing or signing up for cruises? Nope, I will have the security at last to start a small business doing stuff I'm really interested in, supporting my local economy and yes, paying tax, hopefully for many years to come.
Education. Then I could get a good job and not need basic income assistance. Healthcare until America finally joins the rest of the world and provides some type of universal healthcare.
Invest more in my small business, give more gifts to family and friends, increase my donations. I give to food banks, but hopefully there would be less need for them with UBI. But I could find a new cause.
I'd pay my share of the additional tax needed to finance this, which would be (as it should be) more than I received.
Pay down debt.
Repeated studies about a Basic Income show how beneficial it is to individuals, recipients families, and wider society.
Every country should offer a Basic Income. @basicincomeaction.org
Something crazy like buy food.
If I were in my 20's it would cover the basics of living so I could pursue an interest more freely and thoroughly.
Actually no, we are all shareholders of the economy and as shareholders deserve our stake our dividends.
Eat healthy.
There are more of us, let’s all each do just a thing then another and together step after step we will get where we want.
I would pay for living expenses like food, utilities, health insurance, etc.
The problem is not your inability to budget. The problem is wage theft. #UBI
We could do $12,000 every year, or better yet, $1,000 every month (or better yet $1,300/mo per person instead of per household of four). And we could do it for everyone instead of only households under $150,000 in annual income and call it universal basic income instead of direct payments.
The USA is in a constitutional crisis at the moment, which we see as a greater priority, thank you for your attention.
UBI debates must separate gross vs net cost. In the US, a $16k adult / $8k child UBI has a $4.86T gross cost, but a $605.5B net cost after offsets. Therefor, the real cost is about one-seventh of the headline number.
Progressives HAVE been weighing in.
-universal health care
-streamlining immigration processes
-universal basic income
-more funding for childcare
But no one wanted to listen.
I am pleased to announce that I have taken Texas. It's clear those that had it couldn't run it so I will. This state will have universal basic income for everyone who makes less than $100K/yr paid for by taxing the rich & the corporations, esp oil & gas. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
More than 'social investment', universal basic income is 'social justice'
I would continue my job as I truly like it. But basic income would take a lot of stress out of handling my loans etc. I could use money more freely to fun stuff like eating in a restaurant and travelling.
Every means-tested program creates two costs:
1. Administration
2. Fraud prevention
Universal Basic Income eliminates both by design. If everyone qualifies, there’s nothing to game.
Universal Basic Income now

Did I just read “crowdfunded UBI app”? 👀
“When I was awarded this money, it was overwhelming. It is a lot of money to people like us – I felt like I’d won the lottery. I bought a phone, laptop and printer so I can do a college course. I want to do civil law so I can advocate for people who are homeless. Getting this money gives you hope.”
