NEW from me on @gamedeveloper.bsky.social: I wasnβt going to write about the Larian AI backlash. Then I woke up at 5:30 this morning with a whole dang blog in my head.
How can you know if your workers are βokayβ with using genAI tools if you have so much power over them should they push back?
svn was a mistake
The question itself contains something interesting as well, with Labour MP Chris Murray saying:
"Having met Rockstar, they failed to reassure me they are following employment law and I share concerns about union busting."
Just had to check
Nothing is more distressing than discovering that the copy of Sonic Heroes you've owned for over 20 years can no longer load the level Bullet Station
I feel as though Yu-gi-oh GX Tag Force Evolution on PS2 could have done with a little more QA testing of the tutorial... I assume "attack" is the option being hidden
we wouldn't need "fast travel" if our game studios invested in accessible and affordable public transport infrastructure. skyrim should have a tram network. assassin's creed should have several regular bus routes. give ghost of tsushima a metro
England is a strange country
I never thought when I moved down to Woking that I'd be surrounded by strange human statues everywhere??? Gave me the fright of my life seeing one stare at me when i just got out of the train station
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrowβs budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me πWeβre just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. Itβs been a roaring success. For every β¬1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got β¬1.46 back. Canβt argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."
Damn. This is amazing. Β£325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Haha, something is seriously up with that helipack. I was playing it with my friend last week and she was showing me how you could stack speed by doing repeated neutral long jumps. It's been 23 years and it's still not patched, unacceptable!!!!
Was playing Ratchet & Clank 1 on my PS2 and realised that you can use the helipack in space! There is no air in space, terrible game 0/10. Ruined the whole experience. I hope it never gets a sequel!
actually I think TOP_PERCENTILE is highest cycles in the top 1% so it's likely not exactly a WR, but still the internet can eat poop
The internet can suck it, I just beat the world record on a puzzle in EXAPUNKS
Open Letter Relating to the UK Video Games Council - full version on our website https://www.gameworkers.co.uk/open-letter-regarding-the-uk-video-games-council/
We are incredibly disappointed by the Labour government's decision to seek advice from such a narrow segment of our industry. You can find our open letter here: www.gameworkers.co.uk/open-letter-...
And for anyone concerned about the weirdness of those loops, I'm unrolling them to make it faster, like what old school C programmers done to save on cycles like the fucking nerds they (me) are
I started playing Exapunks a few days ago and it's amazing. It's managing to scratch the itch for making things efficient, and better yet there's 3 different goals to make them efficient. Haven't gotten too far because I can't leave the current stage until I match the WR (or am close enough)
Just curious, Is this for getting indexes to your systems?
I've normally approached this kinda thing using unique int ids i define on each system on initialisation during runtime. Those indexes can then map directly to an array of the systems. Is that an approach you've considered?
For some context here is a video of some of the obstacles i'll be needing to do complete over the 15km

4 Chicken Legs at Tesco for Β£2.50 what a bargain!!!!
int main() {
Console.Log("Chicken Life is %s", chicken_life_value <= 250? "worthless" : "valuable");

}
Output:
Chicken Life is worthless
