This is not science. Autism is not a disease. There is no epidemic.
βEvolution has primed our minds to understand death by a tiger. Our mind finds it much more difficult to understand death by a documentβ

Disappointed. Since when is the solution to high costs less supply?
βThe tendency to create powerful things with unintended consequences started not with the invention of the steam engine or AI but with the invention of religion.β

Thereβs no need for self-awareness when your political strategy is βignore context; lie about everythingβ

Pretending to lower the price of eggs while raising the price of prescription drugs will definitely make this country great again. Just wait. That money will trickle back down... Trust.
And itβs okay for American companies to sell them our data
And βintermissionβ isnβt an option?
Itβs really hard to freak out about students using AI as a shortcut to learning in an education system with so many educators bragging about using AI as a shortcut to teaching.
AI recommendation letters should be reserved for students who AI their way through class
I really want to be excited for AI to open up new education opportunities.
But... "students need tutors" feels, at best, like a misunderstanding of the actual issues schools face. At worst, it's a straw man built to sell a product and convince investors they're making an impact.
Why would you invest in ed tech when you could use the infinite money glitch of investing in AI?
I'm starting to think that maybe this Milton Friedman character was not a good guy!

Also, it gives us the chance to teach basic digital literacy before they fall victim to the conspiracy-thinking rabbit hole.
Not that we do that well, but I canβt imagine doing it at all with a typewriter.
They open up opportunity:
Opportunity to engage in different ways
Opportunity to disengage in different ways
βOpportunity to learn, practice, and growβ might not be far off
Question for #EduSky
How would you define education?
But the test scores need to go upβ¦ How else will you know sheβs ready to take the tests in middle school?

Toughest thing Iβve done all week
An Ohio HS principal was placed on administrative leave over a newsletter sent to school staff which began w/ a reflection about the election outcome.
"In the letter, she said 'struggled this week to find the right words' about what to say regarding the outcome."

"Promoting curiosity in children, especially those from environments of economic disadvantage, may be an important, under-recognized way to address the achievement gap. Promoting curiosity is a foundationβ¦that we should be emphasizing more when we look at academic achievement." - Dr Prachi Shah
