I blame clowns.
I blame clowns.
Okay so I'm wrapping up documenting the AIX 7.2 thing will hopefully post it all tomorrow. What should I do next?
Alright. Things got weird. I'll drop a github link soon. I'll be adding other weird images here that are more complicated. This one was weirdly kind of a dream minus the time sink.
Okay. Up and working. Going to spend some of the afternoon building a smaller disk image and I'll stick a writeup on github or something as well as putting stuff here when it's done.
Then I'll do another weird one.
Okay. Networking and SSH are done. Now to build a container to wack it into. I'm glad I've been keeping notes through this so I can post an actual writeup somewhere.
Let's disable some services and get some ssh on here.
Okay. Part 2 of getting AIX 7.2 up and going. Wheeee......
Well that call just sucked all the joy out of computers for me. Everyone cool with me picking up on this later?
I'm listening to some customer of ours drone on about buzz words that they have no clue about and all I want to be doing is doing dumb stuff with AIX and docker.
I really wish "making the stupid, less stupid" was a bigger part of my job.
Before I go eat I will say that this is my very first attempt at this madness with AIX 7.2 and it's going FAR smoother than older versions. So this is pretty cool.
Logging into an AIX 7.2 system as root and running "uname -a"
I'm a monster. I'm also hungry and have a call in 45ish minutes. I'll continue after that.
Okay, let's make sure we can get through this and get logged in, then I'll go have lunch and we can get ssh going and start doing the REALLY stupid stuff.
A good chunk of my morning and sanity?

We did it!
And now we bootloop! Thankfully I know how to fix that.

Let's GO! Still more to be done.
Tell ya what we can talk it out over sandwiches and coffee next time you're in Philly. On me. Also, it's still installing.
So, it's working then?
If I were a smarter person I would have maybe not just let it install whatever it wanted to by default. But I didn't, so here we are.

I'm going to need more coffee.

This feels so wrong.

I haven't forgotten. I'm having my coffee while attempting a run through using 7.2 and making notes as I go.
I will warn you, I've only ever done this to get the squarest of pegs into the roundest of holes.
AIX it is.
I see you @noid.hotunixsluts.org So we wanna do AIX or Solaris?
Well shit. I'm on a list now and followers showed up. I guess I'll start posting interesting stuff now. Next Monday, AIX in docker? That weird enough?

Many commentators say that vigilante groups are never the answer. But they clearly don't know about the masked Ecuadorian trio named βAcciΓ³n OrtogrΓ‘fica Quito,β who roam the streets at night with a singular purpose: to correct all the spelling and grammar mistakes they find in graffiti.
