I think my brain is starting to exit its winter hibernation mode, AKA Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Most of the past 4 months or so feels like I've been running on low power mode, especially with us having 3 months of rain!

But with the recent brighter mornings and sun, it feels better somewhat now

This makes management much easier, and Fastmail seems very good as a service.

Only thing it seems to lack in terms of email is some way of "starring" a specific email, but admittedly I haven't yet had a deep look at labels and filters.

Previously I'd had my online storage, VPN, email, 2fa and calendar all with Proton.

So I'm still in the process of moving everything, but today I've started using Fastmail in conjunction with my personal domain.

So rather than aliases, I can literally create new email addresses for each service.

I'm making moves out of the Proton ecosystem. Mainly just to diversify my tech stack, and spread my tech investments between various suppliers so I'm not 100% invested in one single potential point of failure.

Either that or he has the administration goons on the lookout for a handy Sarlacc pit...

So now my list of servers I'm on is looking a LOT slimmer, which is something I'm not sad about.

So I spent this morning /leaving a LOT of #Discord servers. Mainly ones I'd joined years ago but never really participated in, or ones I'd joined for the custom emojis.

But after cancelling my #Nitro sub after 9 years earlier this week, my ability to use cross-server emojis will go away.

UK users "may" be part of an "experiment" where their private verification data "may" leave their device to be stored on Discord and partner servers. Months after a data breach where they lost 700,000 user records? Fk that.

And after nearly 10 straight years, I have cancelled my #Nitro subscription, because #Discord can't keep it in their pants.

What do I intend to do with it? Probably use it as a testing ground for various stuff before putting it live on Elderlogs.net. For one thing, I intend to dabble in creating/modifying themes for my Ghost install, so I'll probably spin up a Yunohost installation to play about with theming.

So I indulged myself in a little bit of nostalgia today.

I re-purchased the first domain name I ever owned that was the original home of my 28yr old blogging habit.

I gave it up about 10yrs ago, and it's been domain-squatted ever since, but I checked this morning and it was available.

#Vivaldi continues to have profile issues when I switch between #Plasma and #XFCE, losing my logged in profile data along with cookies & logins, which is very irritating.

Firefox had no such issue, so I installed Floorp it and works like a charm.

Apropos of nothing, I'd forgotten until this morning how much Talulah Riley is to blame for the fall of civilised discourse in the west (aka the fall of Twitter).
