There's moments on this Field Commander Ali where this folk music could be performed on a rowboat in the middle of a lake without sending out a ripple. It's not all placid, especially when the voice gets multitracked, but it makes a quieted space.

I thought I could wait a month and focus on other music but this post made me realize that'd be impossible lol, just bought it
Oh that rules!! That is exciting, those things can sound so amazing, very glad to have sparked that idea in any capacity
oh nice I'm checking out that Field Commander Ali right now and it is the right quiet vibe that I was hoping for. Out of the rest of the new stuff I'd give the most emphatic recommendations for PRAED and Ishtar Sr.

B-B-B-B-BANDCAMP FRIDAY PUSH CUZ A GIRLS GOTTA EAT! GO GO GO GO GO!
My favorite thing about Buchla modules is that they use banana plugs. You can stack multiple outputs into one input, allowing for more dynamic control over the timbre. It's well utilized by Crespi Drum Syndicate, it fits in with the bass that casts shadows of higher gravity. Quality odd grooves!!
Oh thanks yes this is really good!! Gonna post it when I'm done
mosaictheanimated has a short EP, but it's always great news that we're getting her instrumental hip hop in any quantity. The sound choices are always individually fantastic, but they truly shine together as a unified package, it's like the texture explains why the time moves this way.
XDCVR_ gives just enough moments with familiar gestures and conventions to feel the loss when they slip away, so that you know it's a choice. It's harsh and mechanical with sharp edges that need warning signs. But it's not cold, because it's overheating.
Fuzzier electronic music with sweet melodies is often labeled nostalgic, but I feel like it can be broader than that. Thinking about anything generates emotions when you care about the subject. That's the sense I get from Nondi_, and it is simply the BEST. This one's got the feeling and care!!
Oh yeah Autechre were *so huge* for my journey as a listener, like I've got formative memories as a teenager with those albums where I started figuring out how to hear more than I did at first. I can imagine the experience without is quite different! But yeah that first one is a real gem as well
This EP from heather vomiting god is really cool! The synth & drum machine sounds too big for the frame, it's relentless in moving forward and it's like the drive is an increase in durability in dangerous air, it reinforces itself with each cycle of pitched percussion. It's not for the quiet hours!
It caught my eye when I saw the title of the new SMALL WOMENS referencing my favorite Robert Pollard project, I knew I had to listen. And the duo of Emerson Borakove & Lex Walton really delivered here! There's a solid foundation of lofi guitar rock that explodes out into other deliberate fidelities.
Shane Parish's Autechre Guitar feels less like the electronic duo's music translated to another instrument, it's more like he performs the active engagement involved in listening to their melodies. There's more pulled in than the immediately central to make this sense by hand. He hears it!
Ishtar Sr. has a vision of futuristic pop that doesn't sound like it's shocking its occupants, and it doesn't seem designed to astound those of us in 2026 (even if it *does*). Every left field that launches a new weirdness feels like it exists in a world that genuinely needed it. This is amazing!!
The rhythm on this one from PRAED is so vibrantly fluid, it's like they're adding new dimensions with the patterns beat into each edge of time's grid and the varied rotations that bring the layers of melody into view. A sound for staring down a large waterfall and seeing that it's a kaleidoscope.

Since I had to miss last week, here's *two weeks* of new music! www.endaural.com/anticipation...
Thanks! And oh god yeah it is *a lot* on so many levels. But I didn't even know all the ways that I needed this, I'm already finding it easier to visualize myself, I think it's worth all the risks!
Two angles of my new face, hair doesn't look great but I still have to be gentle about the incision. I've got lips now, and the prominent brow is absent. Fat grafts in the cheeks too.
My face has been healing pretty well, I didn't think i'd get this kind of a view of it after just a week
Seriously everybody, if you've been enjoying the stuff with stickerbush, you'll want to keep an eye on this solo stuff, it's so incredible!!
Love this summary, I heard it mid-healing and generally only had wordless amazement as my takeaway, but yeah that sounds right. Glad to hear it connected!!
Hope you enjoy! The latter one can be tricky to track down for streaming, the first BC link doesn't have everything available but this one does bhobrainey.bandcamp.com/album/hot-sh...
Recent: heavensouls - cantu of the sower
Less recent: prants - hot shaker meet lead donut
You didn't censor the username in the quoted post, and two of the four articles there are not from the opinion desk.
Very much appreciate the heads up on this, it is *amazing*
I figured out you can do rich text with something like deck.blue and so I could just have the artist name as a hyperlink, I think that'll be the way to do it. Really does not work for phone posting but at least it (probably?) works
I am so sorry that this evil is on your doorstep so much, you and all the people around you do not deserve this. There must be justice for this.
Probably just some BS about how trans boys can join, they just have to be with the girls and vice versa
I thought he went into this whole thing totally capitulating on the idea that he could do anything about private institutions, and that his solution would be public health funding for the budget starting in July. Is anyone asking about whether this funding is happening still?
