This is a good article, and I would add: engage with all the people in a meeting. Even just by greeting and acknowledging them, or making brief eye contact/asking a question or two. Don't laser focus on the "most important" person and (even unintentionally) ignore/freeze the others out.
If you see me at GDC and youβre in trouble I will 100% get you out of there even if I havenβt met you before.
Quick note for men: I have lifelong friends in both my fields who are women, folks I text their relatives random stuff β and even with them I ask permission to go from point A to B.
Do not follow ladies around, full stop. Have your own agenda and do not cling. Read the rest of the tips here too.
