Hugo Boss did not design any Nazi uniforms, he did manufacture them, was a war profiteering Nazi scumbag who used forced labour, but he did not design the uniforms.
The truth makes Boss even worse.

It seems like someone later decided that this must have meant she liked fancy soap and bathed every day and that everyone was shocked by this.
