this one hit my game design brain real real good, it's just a very complete statement with a minimum of moving parts
another big favourite from the cookie jam, extremely cool
one of my faves in the jam i think
while i'm at it, aria's poison game is really brilliant too. full of wild ideas and with teeth enough to make you engage with every single one of them, but without taking itself too seriously or milking anything too long. feels deep and nonchalant at the same time, which is a real feat
One rpgmaker character, exacerbated, going "in the year of our lord 2026, players don't want to grind against slimes for an hour outside the first town!"
Finished my second Cookie Cutter entry! Five minutes long and you can play it in your browser and on your phone. Give it a look: farawaytimes.itch.io/jam-game
i really liked this one, cute and surprising puzzle adventure based around a custom battle system
I drew this one back in 2023 and was a little taken aback by how many people it resonated with. Good to know, I guess!
wait i forgot youtube has playback speed options
someone needs to upload all the rpg maker 2003 midis at all possible tempos to youtube and catalogue them in playlists so you can find the one you want
when you want to listen to the cool final boss music from your game but the music is "an rpg maker 2003 midi at specifically 120% tempo" so you basically can't do it without opening up rpg maker
i finished playing through all of @tunditur-unda.itch.io's rpg sketches so far, every single one was lovely and thoughtful and surprising and they don't take very long to play and they come with detailed author's notes that you can read as you reflect on the experience! wow

lmao that's true like i felt a bit disconnected from the violence (my reaction to the choices coming up was something like "do i gotta") but the part that got to me the most was probably later in the scene when jan gets over the shock and puts on airs of confidence like "really? this?"
I wanted to do choices at the end. I wanted the player to feel complicit. While this might not work for everyone, you're probably playing ryona-jam games on purpose. You know why you're here. For a lot of that audience, I feel like they felt the same type of inner struggle Bao did.
oh yeah and this part threw me a bit lol, somehow i always forget that not everyone identifies with the victim in every kink violence situation.... although these days it's often kinda neither and i'm just the observer going hmm interesting *sips tea*
hell yeah, that was a fun read. the process behind the backgrounds interested me because making backgrounds from scratch is a nightmare.... it also made me happy to see the level of thoughtfulness that went into the spatial layout of the world which kinda went over my head when i was playing
i wrote a walkthrough! it's linked on the itch page
i dont even know what star tonk is and i still liked it..
*coughs* I'm fading fast, kid... I can feel the reaper knocking, haha... But listen to me... before I go, promise me one thing... *coughs* Put some glasses on your OCs, or your drawing of... any characters... That's my final... wish. Put... a pair of... pretty glasses... *dies*
something i think is cute about the cookie cutter rm2k3 jam entries is how common it is to just cut out the entire tower and make the entrance lead to the top floor
(writing a 5 paragraph essay about how to beat the final boss of my game) "aria how did you expect people to figure that out" ah.. eto.... bleh
maybe i should write a gamefaq for my rpg
i was hoping it'd be more like "it's kind of overwhelming but you can make progress with a little experimentation" and not "you will get walled for an hour", such is the no playtesting lifestyle
when you live the no playtesting lifestyle sometimes you accidentally make your rpg too hard
silly game for the cookie cutter rm2k3 jam aria-of-flowers.itch.io/sky-and-flare
I think Crocomire should get to eat a burger (finished)
idk if this was included intentionally or not but i like the readme file that has like rough notes and plans for the game
i liked the character dynamics in the climax especially
my reaction was something like "hell yeah cute little game" but if i post that then someone who has a normal definition of cute will play it and yell at me when they get to the intense gore and heaving boobies
beautiful pixel art, turns out the creator of i wanna be the guy is really good at drawing
i'm the crocomire of women
