I feel like the rule of thirds applies more to the composition of individual panels than the composition of entire pages, like, sure, sometimes starting from a nine panel grid is great but its not right for every story.

Oh that’s kickass! I learned a bunch of opera for my voice lessons but never actually performed any.

I mean, one rarely gets an opera foisted upon them by surprise and these days it’s easier than ever to just find a short synopsis online if you know you’re seeing something you’re not familiar with!

Yeah, I haven’t in a while since I’m not doing a ton of in-person networking for freelance these days but I used to fuck around and make new business cards like a couple times a year!

This is the thing I want to stress to people who are used to the illustrated kids’ book space. You’re used to being done when you hand in the words. In comics, the writing isn’t done until the pictures are done because the pictures are also writing.
