Wincing here for multiple reasons.
1.) 120 might still make nDreams the largest VR game developer and publisher in the world.
2.) Thatβs still probably 5x or more the studio size that even the highest selling VR games could support right now. Many VR teams are still less than 5.
From 250 staff at nDreams in 2023 as "the worldβs biggest VR game developer and publisher" to 120 after this restructure.

βMy kids are goingβ¦to grow up in a holodeck and it will happenβ¦.I don't know if it's going to be Oculus that's the company that delivers the holodeck ten years from now, or however many years from now, but we certainly can be one of the companies that helps get it there.β

Currently, the only means available for playing light gun games outside of an arcade (especially the old console ports) is EmuVR.
The physical tech only works with CRT displays otherwise, which most no longer have.
Thread here that I spent too much time on this afternoon.

From Morpheus to Neo.
There was a scene in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy where the characters had a rolling bag as a central part of the scene, pushing it back and forth between them.
1,000 years in the future with goddamn transporters and they needed a rolling bag why?
What the fuck?

a big one if I had to guess is the SoC, it hasn't been announced yet so they'd have to spell out a laundry list of things that would leak specs and can't be run (benchmarks et al)
Exactly why I made the NDA itself the story here. This seems like it is partially a search for future brand ambassadors.

Reddit has figured out I want Steam Frame and started to serve me the same posts by the same distraught people over and over again.
Looks like it is time for TestFlight on my volumetric newspaper.
Just had a thought that we got here all because MFs couldn't run Crysis
Iβm told the market is small for my idea of a raccoon stuffed animal that doubles as a VR headset bag.
Pull your headset out and put it on then cuddle your raccoon and go to sleep.
Profit.
Someone else HAS to take over this space. I curse meta's frustrating UX daily. I have programmed VCRs in the 90s with less friction than just trying to get a screenshot off a headset, or connecting a different headset to Link.
Imagine getting hired from Apple to work at Meta and knowing what Apple is going to do in the next two years with hardware and then your boss at Meta comes to you and is like:

This makes complete sense if you understand "AI" as predicting which word comes next based on statistics from lots of existing novels. The model isn't concerned with strategizing, it's ensuring dramatic deployment of Chekhov's gun.
Made it to the last two episodes of season 1 and my wife is ready to change the password to the HBO account to keep me from finishing the show she got lured into four hours ago.
Canβt stop watching The Pitt.
My new podcast is live with its first episode!
Time to look at making this publishing and editing process easier, and improving audio quality.
