need more breakcore/experimental/glitch/abstract stuff that i don't feel bad for playing because it's so far left field of previous/next sets even when it's open genre

The vibe ALWAYS > the technical prowess. Never forget that, DJ friends.
Testing out a new outfit by @mintea.pw! (Will Be available on booth btw and will support multiple bases)
stoat, fluxer, matrix, root
let's just go back to irc at this point
lumina base showcasing: * black dress shirt sleeves, top covered by olive (?) green vest-sweater
lumina base showcasing: * black pleated-style dress pants

You know executing someone in the back of the head when subdued is considered a war crime.
And this is normalized against our own?
Zoom out, and breathe that in.

3d audio sounding better than 2d with STIR
sound profile by
@crunchyjointsvr.bsky.social and @mintea.pw
the steam audio source component's 'directionality' toggle works and has since the beta; the extended featureset (reflections, occlusion, raytracing, etc.) have not been implemented yet

2d is good, 3d can be good too (ft. mid side encoding)
before you go on social media complaining about a world in vrchat, consider the fact that you probably don't a single thing about the amount of work and dedication it takes to build one.
its ungrateful people in this game that kill the drive to create new experiences in this game.
world devs can grab the official Unitypackage for Steam Audio and some parts of that component have been verified working in-game (directionality, the big one)
+ the steam audio beta ofc
This frustrates me
Shelter implements 3D audio really well but gets shot down regardless because its not 2D. Devs from several world projects are trying to implement good audio upmixer solutions and the results are fantastic. Overall dont tell people to not use 3d, let people learn and build

i'm no audio engineer and have literally no formal experience in the field, but it does come a lot down to vrc's defaults and the horrible vrcspatialaudiosource on top of bad reverb/settings
tl;dr not enough knowledge or discussion happens rn on it to matter imo
don't think audio has had enough 'experimentation' in this space outside of projs like arc and stir and most haven't taken the time to fully study how it should work over 'it should *just* work' - lack of knowledge and improper usage are killing chances of really good implementations
been messing with some implementations of a mid-side setup with some new stir features, quite an interesting setup (and i see the appeal, now)
shameless plug to codeberg.org/mintea/stir for anyone additionally interested (:

egad, they put [echo] in my [spacious area]
yes.
it fluctuates between 25mb/s and 2mb/s, the dsl connection here is... "strong"
even on good days (+15mb/s) a couple months ago, rtspt was having some major issues in regards to audio artifacts on many 5.1 streams, but it's nice to see somehow it's mostly resolved :p
noted, i am experiencing some minor blips but nothing near as bad as it was a few months ago, and it's more than likely my 2mbps upload speed... lol
i'll keep testing setups and documenting what i can. anything more impactful, i'll bring it up in discord
thx for the recs (:
