A government that runs on being the party that supports the oil industry, but if you get hurt on the job? No support.
A government that runs on being the party that supports the oil industry, but if you get hurt on the job? No support.
A government that won't fund healthcare, such that the only surgeon in the province who could do the specialized procedure required to alleviate his pain moved to New York two weeks before his scheduled surgery.
A government that relies on revenue from physically brutal jobs that disable people, and then doesn't put that revenue into a social safety net to take sufficient care of the people who were disabled.
He became disabled from the long-term physical stress of working in the oilfields and now the Alberta government is cutting his monthly food benefits from $70 to $40
He kept saying "What did they do with all the money I made them?"
a few weeks ago I had a patient perfectly articulate the concept of debility to me from first principles and I haven't stopped thinking about it since
The Strait of Hormuz is open for transit
I stopped gambling (mostly) last year and the way the books hound you with notifications/emails to Get Back In The Game should 100% be illegal
like if Coors could text drinkers "15 days since your last beer ... sounds like you need an ice cold Coors Light" and also their phone could give them a beer
Another day, another stupid Excel chart.
okay so apparently August's PCA has been using an UNGODLY amount of laundry detergent with each load and now he's out early 🙃🙃🙃
a group of people were like "i found a way to live my life as a truer version of myself" and instead of being like "that's beautiful, how can i help" people were like "i don't think schools should have books in them anymore"
got assigned to sit with a patient who had a history of fainting with vaccines and after a few minutes of small talk he mentioned Lord of the Rings, and that's the story of how the pharmacist had to come looking for me 20 minutes later to check the patient hadn't passed out after all
Good news for a change
Hey friends, just a reminder that I'm disabled without income and in pain. I need help paying down some debt and buying meals.

"and other than that, Mr. Hegseth, how is the Strait?"

okay wait I'm obsessed with this bit concept
*handcuffs a girl*
*turns around after putting on the strap*
*she does an elaborate Houdini flourish as she breaks out of the handcuffs*
*goddammit not again*
“At some point, in ideal conditions, maybe I would be able to cobble together some feelings about Donald Glover playing a digital dinosaur, but right now I’m tired—very, very tired,” said Wisconsin resident Gina Logan
"He's high on codeine."
"No, that's how firefighters talk about the job."
"What?"
"Yeah, they really do love their job and what they do."
"They like running into burning buildings?"
"Yup."
"That's fucking weird."
I love the "could this be a solution" post because it's a perfect example of Founder brain. You have to be a special kind of stupid to imagine that you are the first person to come up with the idea of driving around the Strait of Hormuz. It's being so dumb that you think everyone else is even dumber
this really strikes me as the sort of thing that probably got kicked around as a theoretical concern 15 years ago and has since not been borne out by the data but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Like. If it's a combined oral contraceptive (estrogen and a progestin) it stops ovulation, and ovulation is what thickens the lining. No ovulation, no thickening. I'm pretty sure it's not dose-dependent. And if it's a progestin only pill there isn't a placebo week anyways so.
I'm gonna be totally honest I have never heard this and I'm trying to find a study about it and I'm coming up empty-handed
💀💀💀
you still have to drink a TON of water with the pill form though
pill form is safe for most people (some people with eg renal disease are at higher risk of certain electrolyte imbalances and need the jug) but a lot of insurances won't approve it
Sutab has a patient coupon card you can use to bring the copay down if you're not on Medicare
THE CANADIAN DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SAYS SKIP PLACEBO WEEK AS OFTEN AS YOU LIKE
(make sure your doctor writes the prescription that way or insurance will think you're trying to refill too early and not pay)
UNLESS YOU ARE TRYING TO CONCEIVE, IT IS NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY TO GET YOUR PERIOD. AMENORRHEA FOR ALL WHO DESIRE IT. www.canada.ca/en/departmen...
WHY IS THIS NOT THE DEFAULT. IT IS 2026.
