Just over two weeks ago, I defended my PhD! 👨🔬🧬🧫It was the culmination of 5 years of work that ultimately led to me discovering a biochemical mechanism behind treatment resistance in prostate cancer. Next up: finishing my MD and applying to residency! 👨⚕️🩺💊
#AACR25 was full of new science and interesting ways forward in cancer research. The advancements in RNA biology of cancer were especially exciting to hear about! I was also honored to present my PhD work through a Scholar-in-Training award through @pcf-science.bsky.social! Great meeting overall 😊🧬💊

With recent successes of pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccines in early trials, and as an RNA biologist working on cancer myself, this is truly feeling personal. Need to keep standing up against this!

I am researching treatments for a genetic disease and was excited to find some data sources, then realized they were on CDC and sure enough all the links are dead. astoundingly stupid - families affected by genetic disease have it hard enough, this is just insulting
