Just saw an important documentary at the Siskel Film Center—“Heightened Scrutiny.” Very much enjoyed it and the conversation afterward with its director, @samfeder.bsky.social

Drug trafficking is not a capital crime; it doesn’t carry a death sentence. I genuinely cannot think of anything under U.S. law that would permit premeditated government assassination of people suspected of drug trafficking.

Air Force revokes approved retirement for trans service members: 'Complete and utter betrayal' Alyx, who has served in the Air Force for 15 years, said the ban and having her retirement rescinded has put her in a precarious financial situation.

Alyx, a 15 year veteran of the Air Force was approved for early retirement in May. The Trump admin suddenly revoked it on Wednesday because of the trans military ban.

She'll lose out on healthcare and pension benefits as a result.

I am also shocked that ppl are in shock about Pete. This is the guy I knew in college, the good, normative boy, following the traditional path to power (consulting, military etc). Why is anyone surprised by this nonsense?
