Metacritic has sent a reminder email to all games site editors/publishers which is pretty strong, and great:
Steam sales grap showing Launch and Daily deal peak
tips for indie devs, you can ask steam if your game is eligible for a daily deal (link below)
We did it for squeakross, timed our big content update with the daily deal and it did great!
the smaller peaks are seasonal/events sales

I like the speculative biology angle of things. Bulbasaur is cool! It's a symbiote! It can shoot lasers!
One sec, adding that to my D&D campaign notes...
No joke! I melted a coworker's graphics card once because I didn't frame cap the main menu of a game.
Thank you!
Turn-based stealth is fun! Would be nice if hacked robots took more damage, but that was a solid jam entry. :D
It's an Easter miracle! I finished Chicken Hacker 64! My submission to the Dungeon Crawler Jam 2025. It's a genre fusion of classic dungeon crawler and Starfox.

Maybe I should just do the @howardtayler.bsky.social thing and give him a human face with just one change. But then it's just gonna be Zoidberg, right?

I dunno... Is he enough of a lil' guy? #ttrpg #scifi

Magic Wand: Ud6. Equal odds of an evocation, enchantment, or conjuration. Magic Potion: Not for healing. Equal odds of utility, thieving, combat, or whimsy. Gemstone: Valuable and slightly magical. Useful for magecraft and arcane rituals. Runesteel Ingot: Glows under your fingertips. Perhaps a smith could do something with it? "Bottomless" Coffer: This bulky locked chest takes up 2 Item Slots but contains 6. Its interior is 2 feet across, 1 foot wide, and 6 feet deep. Black Pearl of Chaos: Ud6. Once per day it empowers a spellbook with one additional use, but the result is tainted with wild magic. Jackrabbit Boots: Ud6. You may swap locations with a willing ally you can see once per Turn. Werespider Silk Rope: Very strong. While you touch either end it obeys your verbal commands. Ring of the Djinn: Summons and commands a genie, who has barely any magic, but feigns competence. Returns to the ring if defeated. Amulet of Mind Reading: Hear the thoughts of others. You can try to get more information, but it risks broadcasting your thoughts instead. Fairy Flute: Ud6. Has a beautiful sound. Playing slowly for a few minutes causes deep sleep. Stasis Bottle: This glass bottle captures anything that fits inside. It currently contains red-hot lava. Curved Elvish Blade: Attacks with this light melee weapon are criticals on a 1 or 7. Mithral Dwarvish Helm: +2 Armor, dwarves will recognize the clan markings and offer to buy it. Skullblade: Stabbing this heavy melee weapon into a corpse's chest turns it into an obedient undead servant until the sword is removed. Adamantine Shield: Utterly indestructible. When you succeed on a Check to defend and roll a multiple of 3, your opponent's weapon shatters. Razor Wit: This light melee rapier will absorb a spell cast at it, releasing the spell when it strikes. Dragonhide Scale Mail: Grants immunity to fire, and you take half damage from falling. Firefang Axe: Heating this heavy melee weapon in a forge doubles the damage of its next 3 hitโฆ

Made some test textures today
There's still a lot of work ahead, but for now I think I'm on the right track
Yeah, I guess bothering them on their socials is the best solution at that point.
Ooof. A friend got all their accounts compromised a couple weeks ago too. Did the email associated with the account get hacked as well? If you still have access to the email you should be able to recover the account without too many issues. A human should see the ticket eventually.
Why even bother with the phone line at this point? It could have been an email.
That's the approach I take, everything is d6 for simplicity and combat style gives a small bonus (+1 accuracy for dual wielding, +1 damage for two-handing, +2 armor for a shield). You can also say that if there's not much reason to fail you don't have to roll, so assassination with prep just works.
Yup! You can do some craaazy things with custom raycast checks. Even something simple like a Mario 64 controller works better with it.
Day 38: 2025/09/01 - 6.5h
CW: audio volume changes
Now begins Sprint 3: Inventory System!
Exploring different approaches to menus, but this one might be too simple for my designs. Nice to easily control some settings though!

The support rep responses seem to be AI-generated. They admit culpability, which a support rep would never do.
Well, at least you got their LLM support chatbot to admit liability. Wonder if that would hold up in court...?
Thanks @ign.com and @duckvalentine.bsky.social for following along on this for the past few weeks.

Rock meshes from Firewatch, from Jane Ngโs GDC talk
Screenshot of rocks in Firewatch
I often think about how Firewatch was made with just seven rocks, scaled and rotated into formations. Itโs so satisfying to work with a small set of good blocks.
Anyone know of other examples like this?
Writing more dialogue...
The worst part is that when live-service games run their course or fail, they don't even leave any artifacts. No playable game remains afterwards. You can't even pick it out of the discount bin.
One of the first few puzzles i setup for Rhell and its definitly one of my favourites in how satisfying the solution was to setup c:
i was just really pleased that my idea when translated to making it in game worked exactly as i wanted
