Software development now costs less than than the wage of a minimum wage worker Hey folks, the last year I've been pondering about this and doing game theory around the discovery of Ralph, how good the models are getting and how that's going to intersect with society. What follow...

Can a LLM convert C, to ASM to specs and then to a working Z/80 Speccy tape? Yes. ✨Daniel Joyce used the techniques described in this post to port ls to rust via an objdump. You can see the code here: https://github.com/DanielJoyce/ls-rs. Keen, to see more examples - get in contact...

a. Introduce a Secret<T> and Pii<T> primitive + hard migrate
b. Search AuditLog<T> and create honeycomb IaC dashboards + SLO/SLI
c. Pump everything over to Honeycomb

tldr - there's _zero_ excuse to not have SLO/SLI and dashboards on launch day now that AI is here.

Correct, Liz, basically I designed with audit logs as a first-class primitive, as everyone should do. Like, everything should have audit logs, and now that I have those audit logs it was a

Agent Backpressure — Glossary — Latent Patterns Automated feedback mechanisms — type systems, test suites, linters, and pre-commit hooks — that allow AI agents to detect and correct their own mistakes without human intervention.

working on it liz, working on it :)

dumping my entire brain into @latentpatterns.com

the fun thing is folks think ralph produces slop (it does) but you can engineer the slop away (agent back pressure)

i ran Claude in a loop for three months, and it created a genz programming language called cursed It's a strange feeling knowing that you can create anything, and I'm starting to wonder if there's a seventh stage to the "people stages of AI adoption by software developers" whereby that seventh stage is essentially this scene in the matrix... It's where you deeply understand that 'you can now

what is the point of libraries now that you can just generate them? It's a meme as accurate as time. The problem is that our digital infrastructure depends upon just some random guy in Nebraska. Open-source, by design, is not financially sustainable. Finding reliable...

This is a very thoughtful piece by @ghuntley.com Think about the impact of large language models on open source.

ghuntley.com/libraries/

Geoff speculates that we will increasingly no longer rely on open source because Li's language models are trained on all of it and can simply generate them.
