Ah, so that's why it locked me out for several hours yesterday while trying to ask me for my birthdate (which it already knew) and failing to load the input form.

I have been considering programming a microcontroller to take care of that conversion. Theoretically it should be relatively simple once I find a dev board that can do 1000Base-T and USB 3.0. Pretty sure UMS/UAS both use the SCSI command set, just translating between UAS and iSCSI mostly. (4/4)
1000 Base-T could also still offer a substantial speed increase over USB 2.0. But I'm unaware of any SBCs that have OTG over USB 2.0. Any suggestions? (3/4)
Works well for low speeds. Works well with the Wii U only supporting USB 2.0. But it would be nice to set up something like this for other game consoles, possibly with a device that could be both a USB 3.0 OTG device and also has a 5GBase-T controller. (2/4)
When I found out about the g_mass_storage module for Linux, I set about letting my Wii U use my TrueNAS server as it's external hard drive, but with a Radxa Zero 3e in the middle to go between iSCSI and USB Mass Storage/USB attached SCSI. (1/4)

What's scary about this story is the surveillance it hints at. This trans woman had changed her name, legally, but chose not to change her gender marker. She was apparently flagged in the DMV system as trans and her license was invalidated under a law that supposedly only concerned gender markers.
