Hearing Zack say this is very weird to me, from our mutual perspectives as gay men who’ve presumably both dealt with homophobic people
Yes insecurity is an amplifier and agitator, but carrying his theory over to anti-Queer hatred, would he say it explains homophobia? As root cause? Cos it doesn’t
Have been a bit frustrated by some of the conversation about Labour's voter coalition.
I've written about who the "Hero Voters" actually were, how we won them, and what we need to do to earn their support next time.

I endorse this thread. Completely correct.
Hospital admissions of young people for knife assault have almost halved since I set up London’s Violence Reduction Unit in 2019.
London's Violence Reduction Unit director Lib Peck spoke to The Crime Agents about how prevention has played a key role in the progress we’re making:
In yesterday's Full Council, Aspire Party cllrs repeatedly claimed anyone earning less than £50,000 a year is protected from their 5% Council Tax increase. When this 'CT Relief Fund' was set up, the Mayor said 19,000 households would get it. This response shows only 143 households did so last year
Thoroughly brilliant film!
We love to see it 🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️
I was in the public gallery for this. Genuinely shocking! The biggest crisis facing the council & Lutfur Rahman's party voted not to allow any debate on it within the timeframe to respond. Astonishing to see the only @greenparty.org.uk cllr side with him! Morally bankrupt.
One of the proudest things I ever did as a Cllr - great to see it's still clinging on thanks to the incredible work of the @saveoursaferstreets.org team and despite the best efforts of Tower Hamlets Council.
The Court of Appeal's judgement stopping Tower Hamlets from ripping out safety infrastructure is good news for Londoners.
It's good for road safety & reducing danger. It's good for air quality, good for health, and good for communities across the capital.

I have never been prouder of this gang of residents fighting to save the Bethnal Green LTN! It was one of the toughest aspects of my term as a cllr with a genuinely debilitating onslaught of vitriol from the opponents. This judgement makes it clear that Lutfur Rahman is not above the law!
Zack Polanski is not a serious politician.
70 years ago, the Thames was declared “biologically dead”.
Now it’s thriving with life, with everything from harbour porpoises to wading birds.
Proof that when we choose long-term action, London’s nature prospers.
Except this isn’t what you said.
🤦🤦🤦🤦
As those of us who actually live in London know, it’s a safe city.
The homicide rate is now the lowest ever on record.
How do we compare?
🇬🇧 London: 1.1 murder per 100k
🇫🇷 Paris: 1.6
🇺🇸 NYC: 2.8
🇧🇪 Brussels: 2.9
🇩🇪 Berlin: 3.2
🇺🇸 LA: 5.6
🇺🇸 Houston: 10.5
🇺🇸 Philadelphia: 12.3
Haha!
Just type it in, John. Type it in.
Just type 'Heated Rivalry' in once and it's all you'll see forever more. I'm not complaining.
It was a stroke of genius until I realised why I'd stopped using the bedsheet...big hole.
Out came the broom.
I thought of you as I dragged mine out wrapped in a bedsheet (the tree).
‘Reiterated my support for international law’ is quite telling, I thought. Whilst also keeping the door open for dialogue with the US.
Bit niche but…
Have any East London cyclists noticed an odd sequencing of the lights at Old St? If you’re coming from Old St W to Old St E, the lights let two full runs of cars heading north, then two of east & then two full runs of pedestrians before the cyclists go. It’s a very oddly long wait.

2022: Liz Truss as Foreign Secretary trying to secure the release of Alaa Abd El-Fattah
I’ll never give up my beautiful bike but there is something hilarious about being a strong(ish) cyclist on a Lime…weeeeeeeeee!
A view of Hilary Clinton sitting in the speaker’s house of the Palace of Westminster.
Absolute privilege to be in attendance in the Speaker’s House today, as Hilary Rodham Clinton discussed her life, Trump, peace in Northern Ireland, the rights of women, the future, and much more.
Genuinely what are people like Ed West doing with their lives? Go to Wigmore Hall, go to the movies, go to Koko, go to the Vortex Jazz Club, go see an orchestra, go see the Last Dinner Party...it ought to cure you out of having this weird, unnatural reaction to your fellow citizens.
I’d love to donate again and my B+ blood is great for the below. But sadly the rules won’t let me since I became single and on Prep…🤷
It was sad listening to the CE on Women’s Hour earlier…clearly no real desire from members or the governing body to do this and proper pride in how trans inclusive they’ve been. All the Supreme Court judgement has done is create a problem where none existed. The gov must legislate to fix this.
