Sharing an update from the #ICE Broadview detention center.

We are currently outside the ICE Broadview concentration camp where Sunny Naqviβs family believes her to be held after being detained in OβHare by federal authorities.
BREAKING: U.S. Customs and Border Protection detained three U.S. citizens and three Green Card holders, including an Evanston resident, at O'Hare Thrusday afternoon
At least one, an Evanston woman, is currently being held at Broadview's ICE facility, her sister told me

Couple things here:
1. What the fuck
2. I am allllllmost more offended by the suggestion that I would give this shitbox edit than having my identity stolen
3. The CEO is scheduled to be on Decoder soon and we will see if they back out!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can help you delve into ways to address this social dilemma! π¬
## Key Points
* **Friend sending long messages** β Messages are verbose, and contain minimal substance, which makes communication harder.
* **Slop overload** β filtering substance from the noise becomes your
Vibe coding broke people's brains because they had a bad understanding of the software design process.
The pop culture model goes something like this: start out with a sketch and then render that same idea in progressively finer detail.
So when tools could "skip" to high detail, people went WOW.
The mistake is confusing detail vs fidelity. Vibe prototypes let you add a lot of detail quickly, just like how component libraries do.
But all of that detail is essentially distraction and waste. Showing off your tasteful drop shadow on the card view is not stress-testing the merit of the solution
It's #BandcampFriday which means that it's a great time to pick up one of my tracks, like the MULTIPEANUT :3

A fifth of the world's shipping moves through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran controls. If I recall, two fifths of total world shipping is fossil fuels. Since the war started, Iran has closed the strait and attacked oil tankers in transit, stopping all shipping.
White folks, just know Black folks are not here for how you stole woke & how you use it, so enjoy using it if that doesnβt bother you.
i can tell you that im a firefly fan who will not be watching whatever that reboot is gonna be
happy bandcamp friday everybody!! good day to buy my new album if u havenβt 0:)
Ocaps are thus necessary, but insufficient. The pattern of use also needs to change.
Yep. Ocaps for these things is 1000% necessary.
The problem is... they won't be enough, not for the way people use agents the way they want to right now, where you are speaking to a god-process that can do your things for you.
And LLMs are inherently confused deputies, so...

Text with two indented, italicized paragraphs both starting with "In an emergency" in between three other paragraphs: Marc Stiegler has identified the root cause of the problem; our devices do not support aspects of sharing that we rely on in the physical world. These aspects can be illustrated with two stories. In an emergency, Marc asked me to park his car in my garage. I couldnβt do it, so I asked my neighbor to do it for me and told her to get the garage key from my son. I doubt that anyone would think twice about this story. The second story is in the computer domain. In an emergency, Marc asked me to copy a file from his computer to mine. I couldnβt do it, so I asked my neighbor to do it for me and told her to get access to my computer from my son. People often find this second story so preposterous that they laugh.
The Six Aspect of Sharing Figure 1 illustrates the six aspects of sharing that we rely on in the physical world. That text is around diagram with six images, text labels and arrows. Light blue arrows connect each of four in a right to left chain, and black arrows from the bottom left "Cross domain", extend to those. Another light blue arrow goes from an accountant, labeled "Accountable" to the right of the top four. The top four are, from right to left (in order of the arrows): - Recomposable. A hand giving keys to another waiting hand with a shadowy third hand perhaps giving the keys earlier. - Chained. The same image of two hands but without the third. - Attenuated. The same image of two hands. - Dynamic. A man in a suit and holding a briefcase running. The Cross domain image in the bottom left is an open gate in a possibly electrified fence like you might find around a farm field. Dynamic above a man in a suit running.
Relevant to agentic access control.
I was reminded of Alan Karp's & Marc Stiegler's litmus test for usable access control, and Marc's six aspects of sharing.

a song is like an entity and a recording of the song is like a sigil representing that entity. a song is semi-sentient and something like a construct. very powerful songs are entities akin to angels and demons

going "oh no claude might be conscious and seems anxious" isn't a cute little quirk like someone saving earthworms from the sidewalk, it's setting up to say that software agents have non-negligible moral value that in sufficient number can outweigh your own.
Arguing that LLMs have any form of consciousness or moral worth is laying the groundwork for some extremely dark stuff. And yet we still treat them like the good guys.
you know when it's half time and they pass all the basketballs out so the high schoolers can practice in the gym and you just realized your tongue is numb from when you licked the void last weekend and you really want to talk to her but shes shy and just stares back at you
