Not sure how long it takes for those seats to show up as available again, but I don't need that kind of stress.

Unfortunately, our return flight from St. John's only shows a few seats left, so not willing to risk losing our preferred flight for a $400 credit. 4/4

I freaked out when I went to rebuy our Toronto flight and the wallet was empty. Thankfully it showed up 20 minutes later.

Only problem was our original seats weren't selectable, and neither were the two I selected as an alternative before the credits were there. 3/4

The problem is the credit doesn't show up in your wallet right away, so if there aren't many seats, you run the risk of them not being available. And your original seats aren't freed up right away. 2/4

Taking advantage of a price drop for our Air Canada flights is much less convenient than how Southwest does it.

Only option is to cancel the flight and get a flight credit in my AC Wallet. Credit expires a year after ticket was issued, but you can use it to book a flight past expiration. 1/4
