25 years in tech taught me this: growth and alignment arenβt the same thing.
You can climb fastβand still grow away from yourself.
Most leaders I coach donβt want to quit.
They want their work to fit again.
Alignment isnβt blowing up your career.
Itβs adjusting it before it blows you up.
For all the women, who carry it all.
Who feel the weight.
Who feel tired.
Who feel unseen.
Who has no idea what she wants or needs.
Who lost herself somewhere along the way...

βI should be happy.β
Have you ever said that to yourself?
Nice house. Stable job. Recognition. Security.
But something still feels off.
Then comes guilt.
βWhy am I not grateful?β
Then shame.
βSomething must be wrong with me.β
So you push.
But the question stays:
What actually feels off?
Sometimes what you need isnβt motivation.
Itβs clarity.

You can be successful and completely misaligned at the same time.
I see it with senior tech leaders every week.
Doing well. Leading teams. Quietly exhausted.
Not because they canβt cope, but because theyβve been coping for too long.
Thatβs why I created The Career Transition Journey...
Imposter syndrome doesnβt just vanish, but you can learn to manage it. Hereβs what works for me:
1. Name it.
2. Talk about it.
3. Reframe "I donβt know."
4. Set boundaries.
5. Move your body.
Doubt won't disappear, but changing your relationship with it can.
In tech, itβs easy to feel like you donβt know enough. Always more to learn, right? This can lead to working longer hours, saying yes to everything, or doubting yourself. Remember, youβre not alone in this. Letβs break that cycle together.

When a big change happens (a job ends, a move happens, a relationship shifts), most people focus on what to do next. But the real question isnβt βWhatβs next?", itβs βWho am I now?β Youβre between identities. Donβt rush to fill the gap. Real clarity comes from honesty, and the rest will follow.
Waiting for motivation? You might be waiting a while. Motivation is unreliable. Action builds momentum, and thatβs what brings motivation back. Start small. 10 minutes. One clear step. Simple structure beats big effort. Every time... What helps you move when you donβt feel like it?
Air France, 13+hr flight time, business class, gluten free menu, 2026.
The famous French cuisine? I'm wondering... π€
Sometimes success stops feeling like success, not because you failed, but because life moved on and your definition didnβt. If you're feeling off, ask: What does success mean now? What do I want to feel, not just achieve? Changing your mind isnβt failure. Itβs paying attention.
Feeling stuck isnβt doing nothing. Itβs often too much thinking, not enough choosing. Stuck usually means something internal has shifted, but your direction hasnβt. You donβt need a full plan. You need one clear step that fits now. Start by asking the question youβve avoided.
"You're the search expert, right?"
At that moment, my stomach tightened. Expert. The word felt too big, too certain.
I had decades of experience. Certifications. Client projects. But inside? I was sure someone would eventually figure out...

You donβt always choose the change, but you can always choose your response. Survival mode is normal, but donβt stay there. Ask yourself: Now that this happened, what do I want this chapter to be about? You can still shape the story, even if it didnβt start the way you wanted.

Overwhelm doesnβt always look loud. Sometimes itβs avoiding a simple task for 30 minutes. Not from laziness, but from the pressure to do it perfectly. Shrink the task. Make it doable. Momentum starts small. Clarity comes from action, not overthinking. Start with: what would make this easier?
Confidence comes after you make the decision, not before. Self-doubt isnβt a sign youβre wrong, itβs part of doing something new. The key isnβt waiting to feel ready. Itβs taking steady action and proving to yourself you can do it. Confidence follows that. Not the other way around.
In winter, trees shed what they no longer need. It can look like loss, but itβs not. Itβs preparation. A reset. This is what January should be. Ask yourself: What no longer fits in my life? What am I afraid to let go of? Real growth starts by clearing space, not chasing more.
January doesnβt need to be a reinvention. It can be a reset. No pressure to be a new person. Just get honest about where you are and what youβre not taking with you this time. Thatβs a real reset. How are you approaching January?
Happy New Year, friends! π
168 hours. Thatβs what we all get each week. Time isnβt the issue. Alignment is. Are your hours going toward the things that actually matter? Not just whatβs urgent or expected. When your time matches your values, everything works better. Including you.
This holiday season, remember: finding joy and peace is more important than trying to meet (often unrealistic) expectations.
Close your eyes for a moment. Take a sip of your cappuccino/tea/hot chocolate, take a deep breath, and listen to your own heart.
You are enough.
