We try do spam detection. So the delayed DMs are delayed because we think they might be spam.

Our services have been affected by downtime in a part of Bluesky's infrastructure (specifically Jetstream US-W1).

This should now be resolved as we have switched to a different Jetstream instance, but you may find that some notifications were not delivered successfully to you as a result of this.

Because ClearSky continues to show people lists from suspended accounts 🙁

Unfollowing/following doesn't trigger notifications and doing so might in fact be causing you to not receive them. If you continuously follow us and don't receive notifications for blocks/list adds that you're seeing in ClearSky then do let us know and we can investigate.

It looks like in this case the part of our system which sends these queued notifications actually had a problem, so that's why they were delayed. Now fixed!

Your DMs aren't open, so we cannot send you notifications.

Most of the time this is just because you received a notification message recently, but sometimes it is also because the account blocking/putting you on a list is considered "spammy" by our systems so we delay it a bit longer for safety.

Do let us know if you don't receive those notifications.

The notifications are queued to be sent to you so should arrive in a few hours.

We try to avoid sending too many separate messages so that we don't get rate limited by the Bsky API. So we group notifications together and send them a bit later sometimes.

Hmm, well I don't see you as being a part of that list right now (maybe you were in the past?), how did you find it if you didn't see it on Clearsky (or via a notification from us)?

The original reason to build it was for the positive use case: “you’ve been added to a starter pack”

But knowing when someone is harassing you by adding you to a block list that doesn’t represent you is useful too so you can report it.
