For those that are NOT in healthcare - the system is so close to collapse it's not even comically bad. It's balancing a manhole cover on a needle, and these people are a huge band-aid that's keeping it together!
As a paramedic I can't state how important these people are, but it's more than uknow!

The keywords in the Congressional statement are "illegal orders".
If the order is legal, it just be followed. No one is arguing that.
If an order is illegal, such as shooting unarmed civilians, a service member is obligated to decline.
"Just following orders" is not a legal defense at trial.
