I built a procedural medieval island map generator using Wave Function Collapse on hex grids. 4,100 cells, 900 possible states per cell, 60fps on mobile. Wrote up the whole process with lessons learned. Links below π #threejs #webgpu

Lil buggy but for some behind the curtains fun, can type "sos" once you start, and fiddle with a few of the different noise vars, sounds etc. Was really trying to be all text, but as I guess was obvious from the start performance would be an instant block.
Can't emphasize how much I appreciate it! World getting busy & and any love from the "we make things because we enjoy making things" peeps is the most important love to me <3

I've been kinda working on building a less "be patient, and i will force you" and more "as you continue a story will unfold" version for this. But as it goes, always good to get a version out :)

Had an email come in last month about a bug in this oldie, github.com/tholman/rast... ... probably my biggest distance (14 years) between commits. Proud of how far I've come.
Iβve worked and continue to work in both sides of this, and weβve all seen the numbers tilt to the permanent contractor side where we can apply permanent pressure to the entity vs the person force. No person made morged (lol) just a shit inhumane βwhy hire someoneβ system.
Vendors v Passion? Iβve been thinking about the morged Microsoft stuff (itβs funny), but honestly is it will be insta blamed on a vendor, which it probably is, but lay completely in the realm of βyeah see we fixed it, fired them, we will do betterβ. Further justifying vendors to the top.
