Finally starting Unbeatable for real, and doing my best to not get lost in Blue Stinger

Long story short, the 16:9 config took more wrangling than usual on the new PC. Unbeatable does support 4:3 resolutions, but I was worried the crop might be too agressive in some parts.

The macropad I used for the demo has also been temperamental, but I managed to remap it.

Ran out of time for this, but I finally got it to work. I'll adjust next week's schedule accordingly. It should be up soon.

Might have to push today's stream back due to technical difficulties. If I can't get it sorted tonight, I'll do an early stream tomorrow.

Okay, I think the crisis has been averted. I'm going to finish setting up and go live with Blue Stinger in 30 minutes!

The support for smooth transitions during flashing animations is the only reason why I've been hanging onto this dumb combination of Lumia Stream and LIFX bulbs. I'm going to lose my mind if that doesn't work anymore.

A bit late in the week for a schedule, but I'm excited to get back into it. Let's catch up and do a bit of planning for the year.

Although Christmas came and went, I still want to play Blue Stinger, so we'll do that on Saturday.

Concept: focal plane mark tattooed on a temple

This fixes the issue with the raid alert I made in StreamElements back in the day, where sometimes the big monitor and the small ones would trigger at different times, or one of them would arbitrarily decide not to show up at all.

The rest is just positioning the overlay differently on each scene and sending them to the monitors using the usual full screen projector method.

There is only one overlay, so everything plays at the same time. As long as the effect was animated correctly, it will always sync up.

I exported the animation as a Quicktime video (ProRes 4444 with alpha) and then converted it to VP9 with Shutter Encoder.

I then set the resolution of the Firebot overlay to the exact dimentions of the video, in both Firebot itself, and in the OBS browser source to avoid unneccessary scaling.

It's not to scale with the stream setup due to the different tube sizes and resolutions, so scaling and timing need to be adjusted for everything to line up. That's what the white markings are for.

Still a bit finicky, but much easier than trying to do it in five separate projects.

The idea is to use a template like this, that serves as a guide when making animations in After Effects / Premiere / Resolve.
