We can disagree on that last part and that's fine. No one is forcing you to engage with that sort of fictional material. Denying people who do want to understand their feelings on a topic, theme, scenario, or timeframe in a clearly fictional way isn't right.
I can't stress this enough. We are not discussing real life abuse. We aren't discussing sharing of actual CSAM or zoo.
Defending people's right to share or consume clearly fictional material is not the same as celebrating or even promoting real life CSAM and zoo.

Plenty of people are victims of violence, sex trafficking, or domestic abuse even as children.

I never mentioned anything about art being used to process trauma, but there are therapists who recommend confronting your trauma and fears in order to identify complicated emotions.
In your own examples of GTA there ARE people who COULD play GTA and think the gangster, gangbanger, or mobster life is cool and desireable. Any rational person would NOT actually do those things though much like any rational person would not actually rape animals and children.
Art doesn't need to make a statement. It just needs you to feel something. Disgust and revoltion are valid feeling when looking at art. Some art is designed to make you feel that exact feeling. The very fact that we are having this discussion is why art can help process strong feelings.
I feel gross for defending those things. But I don't think it's justifiable to censor fictional depictions of them without also lumping in fictional depictions of violence or consenting sex.
As an example. Shooting people in real life is a horrific scene and censorship of media showing it may be warranted.
Shooting people in s videogame? It's fine.
Ethnic cleansing irl? a crime against humanity.
Ethnic cleansing in a painting? Socially shun the creator maybe, but free to exist.
Fiction gives us an opportunity to safely explore and engage with feelings, concepts, and situations that would otherwise be dangerous or horrific irl.
Do i want to see at of clearly fictional children being sexually abused? Hell no. I think the people that enjoy that sexually are gross and lost touch with their humanity, but I'll defend their right to make it.
Those are all sexual abuse not a taboo because they are real people and animals who cannot legally give consent.
However. The realm of fiction is where I become more adamant about less censorship.
Rape. They meant rape. They are just refusing to acknowledge him as a man even in his (alleged) crimes. Pathetic.
