time to get HYPED about GENUARY 2025
GENUARY is the GENERATIVE ART MONTH
GENUARY is an artificially generated month of time where we build code that makes beautiful things.
It’s happening during the month of January 2025, and everybody is invited!

In Pie Counter, Thiebaud used vernacular foodstuffs to explore composition, color, light, and texture. Unlike most of his Pop art contemporaries who were eliminating the nuances of touch in their work, he exploited the physical properties of paint to mimic the look and feel of the substance depicted. Here, the paint imitates the gestural strokes a baker might make when frosting a cake or spreading whipped cream across a pie. By combining this physical treatment of paint with the rigid geometry of triangular pie slices and circular plates, arranged in a grid composition against the counter’s neutral background, Thiebaud made a work that is simultaneously representational and abstract.

I want art that looks worse made by real people who are paid a universal basic income and who don't have to compete for the bare minimum and I’m not kidding
If you don’t trust a machine to write a book or a song, it’s not trustworthy for alt text.
Automated tools can help ensure there’s alt text (which is preferable to no alt text) but it’s not always accurate or actually helpful.
Put the same level of care from your posts into your alt text
Ohh I see. Thank you for sharing your experience, I didn’t know that!
I found a thread the other day with details on encoding good quality video at the moment bsky.app/profile/jaz....
I know the team is working hard but I wish they ease up on the compression at some point!
when i just started learning graphics, this story happened to me, with love, math, differential equations and loops, hope you will like it, inspired by @beesandbombs.bsky.social gif, text: medium.com/@akella/love...
hey look! it's a new #bot!
✨ @tenprint.bsky.social ✨
inspired by 10print.org and @RandomTiling@botsin.space
I had a lot of fun building it, and it only posts once a day so is pretty chill.
enjoy!

Sweet! I love this!!
A collection of lesser-known games that were inspired by, or could themselves inspire, visual programming.
Stuff like Factorio / Baba is You.
You might enjoy checking them out, or sharing any I've missed!

I'm playing around with adding lines to introduce more variations into my truchet tiles

I still love how colorful this piece is! ✨

The cup is as full as its algorithm allows, and it's probably different every time

Two text messages that read the following: 1. no late when it comes to blooming! 2. flowers bloom in all seasons 😊
I feel this too and I almost always have that same thought, however I also genuinely think it becomes a constant part of our lives as we grow and gain perspective
I saved the image below a while ago, and I don’t know if this helps but I wanted to share it

Yes! And I will try using the wave function collapse technique!
Thank you! It’s not based on wave function collapse but rather a noise-based algorithm. I’m using Truchet tiles with a touch of randomness to determine the tile types (arcs and lines).
it’s very good so far, the album that is
what a year for music
