Looking great already, can't wait to see the other animations!
I was just looking for a jam to join, great to see one hosted by you!
Glad to see you back!
Made a game about playing cards in a creepy bar for my gmtk game jam entry.
An unending night of weird drink, blurry vision, and solitary-like card game. 🃏♠️

Thanks you !
Hey !
I just published my second devlog video on my game :)

Made a main menu for the game!
Still not sure about the color palette or if I should add more keyframes to the animation.
Feeling good about the first prototype tho !
Tell me what you think !

I just need to find a way to make it quicker and avoid it feeling too repetitive or intrusive. Maybe there could be an way to skip it for players who aren’t interested, but at the cost of missing out on the damage boost.
Yeah, you're right. Some other inspirations for doing this kind of feature are Dredge with its fishing minigames, or Sea of Stars for example the "Moonerang" attack, where you can boost the damage as long as you keep catching the rebound of the attack.
Thanks !
Still using the "Slash" animation as a placeholder since the action sprites aren’t done yet 😅
Working on a new mechanic for character skills. Some skills will now trigger a little "minigame" before the attack—doing well in the minigame boosts your damage or enhances the action
Prototype for the "Shoot" skill, do well and boost your damage up to x3

Hey!
I just made a little devlog video about how I kinda stumbled into making this game I really enjoy working on.
Didn’t really plan it, but it’s turning into something cool !
Would love to know what you think if you watch it :)

To make the fight end at some point, you could make it so that 20% or something of the damage are always taken, and then the rest is affected by the reduction
So it won't be frustrating but still feel hard
What type of game are you planning to make ?
Okay nice, thanks !
Changed the 9x9 layout for my islands to something a bit more 'natural'. Not sure about the result tbh, so here are some comparison pictures with my previous posts to see the difference.
I'd love to have opinions about that !

Working on the atmosphere, balancing turn-based combat with finding curiosities and how they affect the game 👁️

Decided to play around with some extra lighting and normal maps to boost the atmosphere. I feel like stylized lights like this look better for me than the really smoothed ones that fit more with 3D.

It looks cool tbh, I like the fact that it kinda look cartoon-ish and not hyper realistic, keep it up
Time to start putting the art into the game!
I like how the result is looking so far.
Still figuring out how to handle the actions selection visual and everything, but honestly having fun rn :)

Took me a while but I finally landed the walk animation.
Hopefully I won’t spend another week on the attack spritesheet so I can get back to coding features 😅

Made sure to play it, really cool game, feels like we might need a polished version now !

I finished my first game jam! Other indie devs, let me know what you think and show me your game - I'd love to get and give some feedback and get to know y'all! <3

Thanks, yeah you're right we gotta focus on the strengths !
Finally found on the design for the first playable character !
(Added a cape and hood to strategically hide my pixel art inexperience 😅)
Pretty happy with the result tbh — now I just gotta do the rest of the sprite sheets… ugh.

Really clean pixel art, good job !
