I still think Bluesky 'could be it'. But blocking and muting should remain opt in. So I'm with the crowd pushing back against automatic blanket blocking of nude/porn accounts at the app level, rather than letting this be a user preference to configure.

BlueSky Ainβt It
The new social platform will never be the βnext Twitterββand thatβs by design.
I'm currently interested in the composable moderation feature of the AT protocol. Mainly for muting rather than blocking, and ideally on keywords and post-meta, rather than at an account level. This, for me, provides a slightly better solution than the "darkening of the boulevard" outlined here ‡οΈ

Standard protocol: In a post-Twitter world, Mastodon and Bluesky need to get on the same page | Tech...
With Twitter's continued decimation, there has been renewed interest in alternatives, such as Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon.
I'm here to mainly talk about tech and running. I'm also keen for a single protocol that delivers everything the community wants. It's looking like both Bluesky and Mastodon are both at about 80% there. Each missing some niceties available in the other.
